  1. Fulham & Brentford must surely go down as one of the shittest derbys?
  2. I haven’t read the article, but the subline there is a bit misleading. I don’t think anyone thinks Nottingham Forest will be up there towards the end of the season.
  3. Not really. I think the gap is going to increase again. You have Spurs with their mega stadium. Man Utd wanting to build theirs. Arsenal wanting to increase their capacity. Man City extending their stadium. Us building a new stadium. Villa will do something with theirs at some point. You are going to have a case where you have 8-10 clubs with a stadium capacity of 55k and over. At least half of those in time you would expect to have a capacity of over 70k. Matchday revenue alone is going to make it so other clubs can’t touch those clubs. I honestly think that in the next 5-10 years we are going to see a massive shift in the dynamics again. Even if we look at other clubs like Nottingham Forest, Leeds, Leicester, possibly Birmingham City who are looking at 50k-55k capacities. 10 years ago those capacities were big, now they will be classed as fairly moderate. What it will mean though is that the these clubs will almost guarantee themselves a place in the Premier League in future, and the gap between the Premier League, and the Championship will grow. We’ll end up creating a natural gap that in unlikely to be bridged, and that might ultimately lead to locking the Premier League. There will certainly be calls to do so.
  4. The players they had at the time had big names and were living on past potential. They were massively slipping, and being found out by everyone. They had a spending spree a couple of years ago and changed a lot of their players out. They were so much closer to rotting towards the bottom than becoming title challengers or top 4 contenders again.
  5. Why the fuck are we listening to Arsenal fans wanting Arteta out? Fuck me man, 2 years ago they were heading to mid table obscurity, with the very real possibility that they would become one of those clubs with the big names but who went down. They have had 2 title challenges, and should at the very least finish in the top 4 this season.

    The Other 18

I hate that interviewer. He asks absolutely fucking nothing, and is sent by Sky as if he’s capable of bringing anything to the table.

Exactly. It’s very likely never ever going to be something I could afford/justify. However it’s not for me, and so long as we are also making it so people like me and others can get in, then let’s welcome it. In all honesty, I’d prefer for those types of people to be brought in via the clubs blackout Mercedes V series van straight into the stadium, then standing in the way of me whilst they are making their selfie ‘I’m here at the Nooo Castle stadium, and I’m going to go in and buy my jersey for 120 dollars’.
  8. It depends. I think a big barrier is also the sponsorship being restricted. Easing/losing that rule would open it up a lot more for those clubs. Of course it will mean 10-12 of the Premier Leagues clubs get left behind.

I fail to see how they were disrespecting ex-servicemen. People like to make mountains out of molehills around ex-servicemen, and try to speak and be outraged on their behalf, especially around this time of year. A lot of us on here feel the sheer amount of poppy watching etc is out of hand, and has turned into a game of who can ‘lest we forget’ more.

What did they do? Refuse to give them a discount off food because they used to do a job that they signed up too, and got paid for?
  11. They will be by the end of this month. Trainers are becoming a collectors item now. I don’t think many of them will actually be worn.
  12. Holy shit! https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/11/adidas-newcastle-united-24-25-gazelle.html
  13. How come it’s at a weird 3pm KO?
  14. I actually thought that they got the rub of the green off the referee. Their players going over too easy, and the fouls being given. The co-commentator actually pointed it out once. Aa I said in a post after the match, I watched it in a pub in Wooler, and there were Sunderland fans in. The one with the Sunderland top on was saying that Tonali’s yellow card just isn’t a yellow card, then looked at me and said it. My response was that if a Sunderland fan is telling a Newcastle fan, that a Newcastle player who’s received a yellow card, shouldn’t have, then it’s fucking clearly not a yellow card.
  15. This game is just a bit slow. Ot feels very much much like a match between 2 average Championship teams.
  16. I’d love him back at the club. I know he unofficially worked for us during that summer series tournament, be great to have him in some sort of ambassadorial role.
  17. Straight out of the Wenger playbook. ’We didn’t lose, we were cheated/roughed out of it’.
  18. Just turned SSN on, what the fuck is Merson wearing?
  19. Get in! What a fucking win. I’m away for the weekend, so just sat in the pub with my MIL having a drink watching the match, first time I have had more than 1 drink in forever. So I’m a bit merry. A family of Sunderland fans in the pub as well, so I was dreading the 2nd half, they were sound to be fair though. But I’m over the moon, it feels like one of those wins that just raises everything, and the feeling. Very hard fought, and deserved.

It was great when it opened, but I think there has been better built since then. Also, it looks too much like Monkseaton High School. I remember watching a documentation of it’s building, and the architect wanted it so the support beams in side the concourses were perfectly aligned, so if you saw 1, you never saw the others behind it. He was disappointed when the engineers came along and fucked it up, and they were not perfectly aligned, or even anywhere near it.
