There isn’t much that we can do so far. People keep banging on about selling the women’s team, Aston Villa got nowhere near what Chelsea did, and ours is 2nd tier outfit. Now Chelsea and Aston Villa took a risk and got a fine, but as we are seeing with Crystal Palace, UEFA sanctions can be anything if your face doesn’t fit, heck Juventus got a European ban a couple of years ago. It really is going to be a long game for us, yes that means we’ll need to bring in youngsters who will never play for us and be shipped out, yes that means football shirts may cost up to £120, and you can buy anything from a a full kit, to an NUFC branded Stanley flask for £60, and a £4 key ring. It means something will happen with our stadium, it means there will be more stuff happening there than just NUFC matches. It also means that our pre-seasons will be spent in the Asia, USA, and even the Middle East.

It’s not the council that Man Utd are getting money from, it’s central government, additionally it’s not towards the stadium itself but for other things such as the relocation of the rail yard. I also do not think we’ll get away on building anything where SJP is, where the Stack is, but not on SJP.

I think people are going too far to be honest. Where we have came from since the takeover has been massive. We have won a cup for the first time since 1969. Our merchandise income has double twice. They have brought in Adidas as our shirt manufacturer because of our previous connection with them. Sela have been good sponsors for us. They bought the Strawberry land just incase we needed it for an expansion of SJP. People who are used to big infrastructure projects from both Saudi and the Reubens have been brought onto the board room. So yes the new stadium and the training ground will happen. We can be disappointed with how this summer has gone, but we haven’t lacked ambition. We can’t sell our players to Saudi clubs because we have no one to sell, and as we saw with ASM, we’d have to sell at a reduced rate. However they have got us to the max we can get to PSR without receiving any sanctions.

Genuinely think the Saudi’s are just buying players on high fees and high wages to increase the market rate so that eventually the tops clubs like Liverpool can’t afford the going rate for players and they suffer from the PSR rules they implemented.

In terms of local stature it is. Como have rose through the ranks into Serie A, but it would be a bit like Blyth doing so and us selling one of our first team players to Blyth. It should be seen as beneath us.

Thing is, AC Milan selling a first team player to Como is equivalent to us selling to Blyth to an extent.
