I’ve just been on the phone to my work mate who may have to take rubbish back to one of our yards in Sunderland tonight to stay away from it. This is the man who on the early hours of the morning stayed back with me for an hour digging rubbish that was stuck in the back of my wagon without me even asking him to do so. The bloke came here to escape racism like this, and is one of the nicest, hard working guys I know, and now I’m afraid that the is a real chance that he might get attacked doing his job tonight.

I’m on night shift and had to go into Sunderland earlier. About 18:20, and there was loads of them in that new square they have built all draped with a union flag on them. Saw one guy in Hendon on a bike with a full balaclava, draped in the flag. I looked at the South African Zulu colleague of mine and knew he had to drive his wagon out of here sharpish.

I’ve said this even before the takeover, but we’ll get a new badge. As it happens I think it will be a fresher version of the magpie and castle. This logo features prominently on the new home kit, and other marketing by the club. In a recent Eales interview when they were in Germany, he is sat in front of a variation of it, with a slight change in colours. In some angles where it is more visible, the logo is more blurred. I don’t think they would be using that logo so much if they were not starting to transition. As it happens for the 3rd shirt, Adidas are actually using retro logo’s for most of their teams on their third shirts, usually combined with their Trefoil logo. Leeds have just released their away shirt with a retro logo which has went down very well with their fans. TLDR: A bit of both is preparing for a new logo, and Adidas marketing for this season.

It will be quieter than the home shirt. People only found out about the release yesterday, and have just spent at least £80 on the home top. On top of this, people know about the design for the away top which will be more popular.

Good chance that by now the black colour of the tattoo has faded into a green similar to the shirt as well. Win win for him.
