I always find it weird how they claim that there is fans in Northumberland etc. of course, our cities are 14 miles away, our boundaries touch each other. People will move for work and family, so you will have the odd fan in major strongholds. There will likely be a Sunderland fan in Walker, just like there will likely be a Newcastle fan in Hendon etc. 99.9% of these areas though will be to respective clubs. An outlier of 1 fan of the opposition ‘territory’ doesn’t make it a strong hold.

A friend on mine’s parents live in Cramlington, her dad is a Sunderland fan and season ticket holder I believe, however that’s negating the fact that he’s originally from Sunderland.

I honestly don’t think Villa fans think they have a right to be at the top. I also do not dispute the fact that historically Villa are the bigger club. All I’m saying is that over the last 20 years or so Villarreal have been the more successful, and as such their fans expectation or at least that of the board may put a bit more pressure on having them up there and competing, where as Villa are more at a building stage of their process.

I’m not saying that they are a bigger club overall, I’m saying in the last 20 years or so they have outperformed Villa. Their expectations I guess by contrast will be bigger than Villa’s. I don’t think any realistic Villa fan is sitting there thinking that their minimum aim must be European football, and their target should be the Champions League, where as possibly the Villarreal fans would expect to finish in the European places and believe that they should target a Champions League place. Villarreal fans will likely be thinking an excellent season for them is finishing 3rd-4th, and Villa fans thinking 7th is one for them. The pressure will be on Villarreal because they have built a team up to compete, where as Villa are on the road to building theirs.

I have to kind of disagree with your last point there. Over the last 20 years I’d say Villarreal have been a bigger club than Villa. Villarreal have regularly played in Europe, including the Champions League and have been much more competitive La Liga than Villa have been in the Premier League. Let’s not also not disregard the fact that Villa at one point looked more in danger of dropping to League One than being promoted.

I’m not so sure on the 1st goal. I mean he’s jumping with his hands down and in a position where he’s trying to keep them out of the way. It’s weird because if it was a defender doing that you wouldn’t give a penalty because the ball comes to him, but if you are Bournemouth and lose a goal to it then you feel totally fucked over. If it’s a foul in 1 penalty box then it’s a foul in the other, and I think they have went with how they wouldn’t award a penalty for it if it was in the defending penalty box.

He’s a good manager but I think it will take him a little time for him to change their way of playing to his. He’s a good appointment only if they give him time.

A lot of people have been saying that we should have had a penalty before Kane’s goal. I don’t think we should have, it’s clearly just too close to him, however I don’t think Kane’s goal should have stood as it clearly comes off the offside attacker, and you can tell by how the ball changes spin.

Fulham are fucking flying, fair play to them. They are about half way to where they need to be.

I always feel for stuff like that they should turn the replies off, because you always get not only bots, but just general bigots and trolls.
