I can’t help but think that there will be club who gives Wellbeck a contract into his 50’s where he doesn’t play at all, until they play against us and he still ends up scoring. A total an utter fucking waste of a talent who’s only still playing because he scores against us.

That’s a rebuild though and would require areas that can’t be used for periods of time, and possible stadium closures. It would also likely cost just as much as a new stadium and give us far less. He is a Newcastle fan though and did attend games long before the takeover. I have mutual friends of his, one in particular who I went to uni and worked with was a friend of his from 6th form and they would often go to games in a big group together. They would often go and see him perform on the evenings as well.

As it happens everything I have heard recently points more towards a new stadium. I also can’t see us going for an expanded SJP for a number of reasons.

So in a couple of months time Newcastle fans living in Cleadon/Boldon have to travel all the way to Newcastle, to come all the way back over on a bubble bus to watch us play Sunderland away instead of letting those fans travel the 2 miles down the road to the stadium. Yet the government are intervening so that a foreign fanbase who provoked and caused trouble in Europe already this season can go into a city whose demographic is 30% of that of those they caused trouble against.
