1 win in the league at Gateshead all season, if we can't even win our home games (including against the side bottom of the table) we've got no hope. What a terrible move that has been so far.
-
1-1, their first chance/shot of the game. Great play by their goalscorer but naive defending.
-
Already 1-0 and look up for it. Beth Lumsden scoring on her 50th game for us.
-
We turned up for 35 minutes, which is 35 minutes more than most of the times we play at Anfield.
-
Dreadful defending, brilliant finish mind.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United: 31/1/26 @ 20:00 (TNT Sport)

At least we seem to score at Anfield in recent years. I seem to remember there was about a massive gap between Cabaye's goal there and our previous one (I want to say kluivert?) went through a period of consistently losing 3-0 every year. -

Given the distance, is there a chance the ticket sales might go to members for the away leg? Might be a genuine chance to see us play in Europe away. -
Because that would be the 10th most expensive transfer in Women's footballing history (according to this anyway https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/women-s-transfer-record-history-list-most-expensive-players-women-s-football/blt0df0393298c2ee92). That would be a massive deal for any women's club and certainly no one is going to pay that amount of money (+ sign on fee/wages etc) to lose them on a free 6 months later. There's also the fact she wants to join one of the biggest clubs in Europe, not drop down a league.

I'm still annoyed about the 90 minutes of life I wasted watching that bore-fest. -

The ball from Hall to Elanga, ludicrous. -

That poor defender. Must have tried learning from a Thiaw masterclass but somehow ended up with his his first half against Leeds. -

Even by Wor Flag's high standards, that looks really special tonight. Brilliant idea. -

Issue at the weekend wasn't the striker(s), it was the lack of service to them. We haven't got the defenders to rotate with but surprised to see the same midfield 3 start again. -
Only thing Chelsea love more than a centre back is a winger.

Newcastle United 0-2 Manchester City [LCSF 1st Leg] (13/01/25)

No idea why that took so long. His back leg is clearly closer to goal than Pope's, he is clearly affecting Thiaw. correct decision in the end. -

He's closer to the goal than Pope (just)... surely has to be ruled out? -
Really liked him alongside Wissa today. He did a great job of bringing others into play and looked a threat. However, the moment we made changes he was left a lot more isolated, not just by the lack of a no.9 but by the wingers getting wider and us looking to play out to them more often rather than through the middle. There is a still a lot of room for him (and us) to adapt for get the best out of him. He's still looking for that extra touch or asking for a soft free-kick when defenders get physical, which he may have gotten away with a lot more outside of the Premier League. There are also far too many occasions where he seems to be looking for a cut back when the wingers are expecting him to attack the space ahead of him; that'll come with time. He's clearly a very talented player and I can't help but feel we've bought a player with a high ceiling rather than the finished article.
