As good as MLS is getting in some areas, I still feel like I could be a squad player and do a job for most teams in the league.
I haven't kicked a ball in anger for years.
This startling insight is courtesy of a chap that wants a nonscoring 33-year-old striker out of favour at Birmingham City back here, by the way.
So fickle. Remember the glory days.

Downing showed some promise early in his career but has failed to kick on. Signing him now would be akin to going out and signing Shola now. The promise is gone. He's shown what he can do and it's not really good enough.
...and he can't stay fit.
I'd rather take a chance on a classic winger from one of the lower leagues, if that's what we're in the market for.
- Bale stays.
- Spurs are in a title race with Chelsea and Man United.
- People want Spurs to win the league as they're the only team that isn't insanely defensive. Man United and Chelsea will play some dour football.
- Arsenal will once again fail to rebuild into side capable of a title challenge but will make up the last of the top 4.
- Man City will throw money at the problem but still be lacking any kind of team work ethic or desire.
- We'll finish midtable after flirting with both relegation and Europe.
- NO will continue to be bi-polar after every win/defeat.
Jokes, bro.
Hey, he puts in a good shift. Plays consistently in any role you put him in. Can play with anyone. Doesn't need to be in a lone striker role to be effective.
If this is true, I'm a little less apprehensive. I mean, it still sucks, but it puts a lot of faith in Carr, which I'm good with.
Joe Kinnear: mediator. Yikes.
