Facundo Ferreyra....I see he`s a Velez player (13 in 15).....looks a good prospect that we`ve been linked with in the past. Inter have been sniffing around, from what I've read.

Michael Chopra is about set for a homecoming.

Stephen Ireland Giles Barnes -
Weird. The only people to know less about soccer than the Canadians are the Kiwis.

He won't be going anywhere, and in a month or two emotions will have died down and he'll be settled again (if the rumours of personal issues are true). In the meantime I'm still confident he can do it on the pitch.

Are we talking Nixon as in the old poster from here? If so, that carries as much weight as anything posted by the hundreds of users on here this morning. Nixon's a journalist now, so I'd take his views on this over the majority here You serious? Isn't he just a freelance writer for a few websites? What sources does he have at the club? He covers north east footy for ESPN, goes to the club press conferences etc. Yup, as well as having a short stint working for nufc media team, and being published in the guardian and the new York Times. The lad has done good.

Osvaldo Alonso was training/on trial with West Ham but is now back with the Seattle Sounders. Decent little midfielder.

Might be after C.Ronaldo, then.

He left, rejected out contract offer. For a 20k/week deal elsewhere. Worth matching.

Would rather have kept Guthrie.

Anyone else feel like the word "action" in the title isn't quite right?

Will any of our players go on to manage us one day?

Xisco, and he'll bring us our first silverware. We'll be fabulous, darlings. -

Kieron Dyer. He was always my favourite injured player. -

Demba who? -
Has been a good servant to the club. He's earned his big contract. Hopefully he'll now piss off quickly so we can get a replacement sorted.

Bassong, easily. Bought for nowt, got some good games out of him, sold for a fortune, has done nowt since. Good business.

Have you seen his brother?

The standard of refereeing in MLS is a joke. That is all.

The average playoffs/championship is more enthralling than the average PL finish, even with the hope that a result like last year's will happen again. This is why the Champions League is, imo, preferable to the end of the PL season when it sort of just, ends. It'll never happen, but a playoff in the PL would be massive. Playing to finish in the top 5 and saving yourself for the knockout stages is a horrible end to the season. That doesn't happen more than a couple games from the end. And it'd be easy to incentivize teams to finish as high as possible, not just to pass a certain threshold. Hey, if you dominate throughout the season but can't finish in the playoffs, you don't deserve the title. On the contrary, anyone can play a storming couple of games without ever having to repeat the form. That shouldn't make a champion. The champions should be whoever came out on top at the end of the season through being the consistently better. One-ff games leave too much up to chance - particularly when you consider the terrible quality of refereeing in MLS.
