The average playoffs/championship is more enthralling than the average PL finish, even with the hope that a result like last year's will happen again. This is why the Champions League is, imo, preferable to the end of the PL season when it sort of just, ends. It'll never happen, but a playoff in the PL would be massive. Nope, you're wrong. Playing to finish in the top 5 and saving yourself for the knockout stages is a horrible end to the season.

Red Bulls absolutely robbed against DC. Happy the Sounders are facing Galaxy. I fancy our chances against them. Still find it weird that the top two teams in the league aren't in contention to win the MLS cup. The post-season playoff is a fucked up way to decide a champion. Of course I'll be happy if the Sounders win it, but I'd have a hard time arguing that they deserve it.

Boom, the Sounder does it again. The man is a beast.

Great to see Eddie Johnson called up. He's turned his form around. Fully deserved.

In Italy Totti has a reputation as an imbecile which takes off some of the exotic shine. He's their equivalent of a chav with money. Same could be said for most footballers, I suppose. No doubt he's a top player. He does what he does very well. But no way in hell is he going to be managing in the future. At least, I hope not. He's not intelligent enough.

Reminds me of a young Andy Cole.

Told you We were playing into the fucking wind first half, ffs. Watch, Everton will struggle this half. They'll look like half a yard off everything. -

Defensive disarray. Not closing them down quickly enough whereas they're all over its when we're in possession. However, the weather conditions are pretty bad. Get the feeling they might have been playing with the breeze this half and wouldn't be surprised if we look much stronger in the second half. -
Going to The Sounders against Chivas today. Hoping for a repeat of the 6-2. Won't hold my breath, though. I've been a bit of jinx when attending Sounders games.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Hope he does well but I've got a feeling he's heading for his second relegation. -
I haven't been following the Russian or Serbian leagues much recently. What's this based on?

Has anyone made a "he better be Good" joke yet?

Would have thought Krul is young enough and keen enough to start most games. The intensive schedule could benefit his development but I trust our coaches will be on top of it and know if/when we're over working him.

He's a good player. Liverpool will get a better, less embarrassing, offer before the window shuts. -

I don't understand why everyone is trying to work out how to fit all three of Ba, Cisse, and Carroll into a system. We have European football, two domestic cups, and the league to contend with. Ba and Cisse will not be playing every game. We've already shipped out Best and Lovenkrands. We need decent players to come in that we can rotate. Carroll would be to us as Crouch was to Spurs. -

This club. -
Why would it make a difference to either aspect? Not sure what he's getting at but it does make the UK market stand out. It will be even cheaper for Premier League clubs to do their shopping abroad rather than in the British transfer market with too much money floating around, inflating prices further. I suppose in that sense it means we might hold on to our players as it's far more attractive for our rivals to import than buy domestically. That said, that has been the case for a number of years but many clubs still haven't caught on.

The biggest surprise here being that there are only two homosexuals in the Italy squad.
