  1. Fuck me, at least we scrapped it out. Credit to Villa I suppose. Colo immense, Taylor and Krul great as well. Very disappointed with the 2nd half tactically though. But there you go, a massive 3 points.

    Moussa Sissoko

What a player he's going to be, right from the off just fantastic!
  3. Guess Perchy can help cover their front two, as well as anchor the midfield. Expecting Jonas to get his arse in gear, with the new arrivals. Think they'll do alright.
  4. Pardews reference in his pre-match to being able to field "horses for courses" now, sounds like a start for Tayls. Difficult for a manager to ignore Villa's hopelessness defending set pieces just now.

Christ this club, it really is surpassing itself this week. Couldn't have been more of a transformation, in the way the season ahead looks now to what it felt like just a few days ago. We're obviously still in the shit at the moment, but now we've strengthened the whole spine of the team with real quality it feels like we can really move forward.
  6. Well they said he was going to get personally involved, and what's been happening this week and the speed of it has been pretty fucking extraordinary. Bit of a glimpse into how he goes about deals when he really wants them done.

Feeding off everyone's excitement here, who's seen him play. If we get him he sounds like another great signing. Great stuff this window, never been anything quite like this before.
  8. Liked the tv interview, looks mentally tough as nails to me. Also a proven leader which is what we desperately need at the moment. Convinced he's going to do just great for us.
  9. Julien Laurens upcoming on talksport on new signings.....

    Alan Pardew

Couldn't be clearer that his approach is just far too negative to keep us up. Can't imagine what was said at half time there - the whole positivity of the 1st half just totally evaporated, made ten times worse by taking off all our creativity. Fuck knows who we would get in, but we're being dragged down at the moment anyway.
  11. Can't believe it just yet but fucking hope so!! - bolt from blue if true.
  12. Irving Nattrass was one of my favourite players of our seventies sides. He was a real classy defender, cultured on the ball but could get stuck in as well. Had the impression at the time he was not really known outside our club, friends who were supporters of other clubs never knew who I was raving about anyway! (media so different then of course), but I suppose in a way that made a player even more special. Anyway he was one whose quality makes you purr a bit inside and who you feel proud to be representing your club.

They have momentum, unlike us unfortunately. Credit to their chairman, grudgingly. have left ours in his wake.
  14. Some wonderful moments, a fantastic collection of goals, bodies on the line, spirited performances. At times couldn't have been more proud. Wheels came off in a couple of games and that definitely needs to be addressed, but overall it's all positive. Huge credit to management and players. Pards has been the catalyst, but it feels like everyone at the club is pulling together which is just great. With Europe on the agenda it'll be an achievement to finish as high next season, but there's everything to look forward to.
  15. Was excellent again today, looking more and more settled defensively and I'm loving his marauding runs. Really excited about how good this lad might become.
  16. So so proud of the lads, that defensive blocking particularly choked me up.
  17. Been great that everyone has put us in contention this week, amazing how far we've come. Am sure the lads will do us proud again, whatever the result.
