  1. less points than this time last season before that tailspin of an ending and little reason based on his record to believe Carver is capable of very much. The gap is only 8 points and our gd isn't much better. And thats not even taking the normal worries about who's getting sold into account. There is plenty to be worried about

    John Carver

we're in trouble. He's shown nowt to think he can get a win let alone enough to keep us up. teams down there are improving (to some extent anyway) while we're getting worse by the game
  3. Pete O'Rourke ‏@SportsPeteO 16m16 minutes ago Villarreal defender Gabriel has been granted a work permit ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal. #afc how the fuck has he been granted a work permit when he has 0 international appearances youth or senior.
  4. and up to 8. Will be at 10 if Sissoko is sold in the next week.

    Lee Charnley

article is mostly good with one exception, Charnley is largely irrelevant. Ashley is the one behind every single decision made and it doesn't matter what stooge he has in that job nothing about club policy will change in the slightest. Kinda wonder why he did that interview in the first place tbh PR isn't normally too high on the to do list.
  7. Sherwood seems to rule himself out of a lot of jobs, makes you wonder if he expects a champions league level club to come crawling to him begging for his help.
  8. idle curiosity, thats based on last season right? Have the actual accounts been released or are they estimating?
  9. I did too but don't think we'll get so lucky as we did last time, above all else the squad had actual leaders in it that time, now we have a rather spineless group half of whom would be on the phone to their agents to get them the hell out of here.

Frankly I almost expect an open top parade with how big the profits going to be, they'll invite every media outlet they can think off to show off how "good" they are and that is a vindication of mike ashleys policy praise be to the great leader etc etc. The fact that the profit comes about because we managed to go through a season with 0 permanent transfers in and somehow finished midtable will be conveniently ignored.
  11. going to be interesting to see how they cope with that scenario, Pardew took an awful lot of pressure and attention off them with his job as sole nufc employee who actually talked to the press, now if the manager is only supposed to talk about matchs that leaves a fair number of questions the press won't just politely keep to themselves.
  12. well that was all rather pointless. Says maybe we'll know where we are at the end of the week maybe we'll wait til summer, I'm sorry but how long does it fucking take to find a manager amazingly other clubs find a way to get someone in within a week or two while we're at 3 weeks since Pardew was given permission to go and no closer since day 1. It all reminds me why I honestly don't give 2 shits if the club says anything any time they do its all PR speak anyway.

response would probably be but we have a cb coming in the summer and that will bring us to 4 so why buy one. Scary thing is one long term injury to Colo and we probably do go down and he's not that great to begin with
  14. lets be honest, its not like theres anything else to talk about from that game

    George Caulkin

I don't disagree like, but those were his own words. Who was it that writes about us but openly supports someone else? Douglas? Bradford City fan, isn't he? yep

    Sunderland

true but we were around the european spots when he signed (were we 5th?) and finished in the european spots so while he was good it didn't exactly vastly improve our fortunes. Long term deals the best is surely Vidic and Evra considering they were mainstays of the man utd team for 8 years and what they won in that time. Mikel Arteta was pretty damn good too for Everton.
  17. the attendance thing will have diminishing returns compared to times past, tv deal is getting too big
  18. never got why he was so interested in Rangers to begin with. Champions league stuff mentioned time and again but Rangers are a long way off that goal (only 1 CL place in scotland I believe?) and considering the huge disparity in tv money and general exposure between SPL and Prem it makes more sense in the cashing the tv cheque without doing much as he currently is and maximum exposure for sports direct signs. Very strange.
  19. Philippe Auclair @PhilippeAuclair · 27m 27 minutes ago Bafe Gomis to Canal +: "when Bony was here, it was also planned that I should play a certain number of games...that wasn't the case". 1/3 Philippe Auclair @PhilippeAuclair · 26m 26 minutes ago Gomis, cont'd: "today, I ask myself many questions. I need time to think, because [promises weren't kept]". 2/3 Philippe Auclair @PhilippeAuclair · 24m 24 minutes ago Gomis, end: "at my age, it's very difficult to accept to spend my time on the bench". Au revoir, Swansea? Philippe Auclair @PhilippeAuclair · 10m 10 minutes ago Just to clarify: those Gomis quotes come from an interview given today on the 'Canal Football Club' programme. Yes, today.
