he'd actually be the best Ashley would get.

cardiff goal disallowed

Is he? Pretty sure their current loanees cost about as much as the squad we own. Let alone players like our best striker for a good few years barely getting a game. on the other hand just as an example Courtois cost chelsea 7m without having played a single game for them yet, but they've gotten a fair bit back alone in loan fee which probably add up to if not what they paid for him, damn near it. I dare say its similar for many other of their loanees. Chelsea are having the players being prepped for first team football with them by other clubs and those other clubs are also more or less paying what chelsea paid for the players in the first place. Anyone who doesn't work out they can probably sell at a profit and those that do work out, they've paid next to nothing net for first teamers.

maybe its just me but I prefer the idea of significantly improving the lot of a smaller club and really leaving them in a much better situation than when you arrived than slightly-moderately improving a top level club (if your lucky)
-
certainly wouldn't go near a top level club if I had that kind of cash. Maybe somewhere lower down where you can really make a mark at the club (ie improve stadium training ground etc etc) that will significantly improve the club in the long term than just give cash to a bunch of mercenary cunts (ie players)

I'm not sure how much arsenal really want to push the boat out to compete for the title where they are now is quite comfortable in the grand scheme of things not spending much certainly not what they could and just appearing in the CL they get the big cash and can have the glorious defeats where yes they lose but they give it such a good go all while charging the fans through the nose.

Thought they were banned from making transfers anyway? in theory whether that will stand is debatable
-
the turning point was the summer before tbh the lack of investment seriously fucked over everything

It comes from GAA be glad we don't refer to it as a free in or free out.

I can't imagine any scenario where Carr wouldn't think that Pardew is an utter bell end. Can you imagine Pardew telling Carr who he wants, and Carr going righto........ when Pardew leaves the room. I'm sure Carr's mightily impressed when his carefully scouted players like Anita and Ben Arfa show their failings as wing backs. Exactly, sees a player, recommends him and then watches a fucking idiot play them all out of position, in a team playing awful football. Then watches said idiot blame those players for not being mint. Pardew is a special kind of idiot. or players brought in without any consideration as to how they will fit together, if they're even needed and what sort of system the manager wants all that matters is they're cheap. Its a fucking awful way to run a football club which won't change regardless of who's in charge.

almost anything is a better option than Torres these days
-
I'd settle for that bit tbh

well from just a personal view point I certainly don't want Chelsea to win it and between my dislike of Liverpool and City I'd cheerfully put up with City winning it rather than the aftermath, smugness and media joy from liverpool winning it.

and thats between the two legs of the Cl semi I believe, every little thing going their way. And I doubt any of us Palace or Norwich (their other games) are going to make sod all difference
-
how the fuck does Skertl keep getting away with shit like that and wrestling in the box every fucking game. Its beyond ridiculous
-
oh dear Mingolet
-
more than likely. I half considered wba instead of Cardiff mind they just seem to be blowing chances to get away with a less than ideal set of games left
-
Palace 1-0 oh dear Villa
-
that was quick, 1-0 wba

I can't think of any positive of us winning today lets be honest nowt positive will come with losing either because if Ashley won't taken as open a goal to sack him as the headbutt then a few bad results aren't going to change his mind.
-
they're both 10 on the shiteometer for me just for different reasons.

I applaud their efforts but unless the majority of the crowd turn it's not going to get much attention. Are our home fans anywhere near as passionately against Pardew as the Norwich fans were about Hughton for example? There wasn't much doubt there about what the fans thought of the manager. You get the feeling the tide has/is turning, people are sick of it now, too much of the same reiterated, regurgitated bullshit. It worked for a while but now he's got nowhere to hide, there's only so much even the most gullible can take before he just becomes a parody of himself. As much as would love to see us win, the best thing that can happen now we're safe is to just keep losing, if he puts in a win or two it may stop the train of discontent before it gathers up to non-return speed. not sure it makes a damn bit of difference how the crowd feel about Pardew, Ashley won't sack him until he deems it necessary and if he won't take as open a chance as the headbutt incident then its hard to envisage him going until at the very earliest sometime next season. Hell I'd say compared to the start of the season he's probably in a stronger position.
-
lets just make this very clear, just because Ashley is bad it does not make Shepherd in any way shape or form good or meh or bad he was horrific for the club. He was incompetent, a regular embarrassment to the club and the amount he made for himself out of his time at the club is sickening.

you can't just say with the exception of one summer and try to brush it under the carpet because that summer lead to us not getting into the CL and we haven't been back since. It was basically the beginning of the decline that eventually lead to relegation so no it can't and should not be ignored.
