  1. Bayern XI to start v #MUFC: Neuer; Ribéry, Martinez, Robben, Rafinha, Boateng, Lahm, Müller, Alaba, Schweinsteiger, Kroos
  2. Personally I wouldn't say Santons declined while here he just hasn't progressed in the slightest.
  3. Manchester United ‏@ManUtd 9m #mufc vs @FCBayernEN: De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Büttner, Valencia, Carrick, Fellaini, Giggs, Rooney, Welbeck. #MUFCBAYERN

Good when called upon, was dependable enough in big games I thought. He was dependable at times, but i think he has been found out now, being a first team regular at a lesser club with worse players around him. did a job for Fergie as basically the perfect squad player, have an injury problem in defense? Just put O'Shea there and he did a job or perfect for the bench too due to said versatility. But occasionally playing for Man Utd can make you seem better than you actually are.
  5. well I'd be shocked and rather unhappy if he was happy and smiling after that.

    José Mourinho

Don't think they took action against Friedel and Cabaye when they manhandled ball boys. tbh I was shocked Cabaye got away without some kind of charge after that.

these tweets from one of their journos kinda makes it obvious what a stupid notion that was. Andrew Haigh ‏@AndrewHaigh 13m Just to recap, Derland banned The Sun because we printed their correct 'likely line-up' and they were worried Brendan Rodgers would see it. Andrew Haigh ‏@AndrewHaigh 13m That's Brendan Rodgers the Liverpool manager. Reading The Sun. To get the team news. OK then. That must be why they lost at Anfield.
  8. We couldn't get Remy for 8-9 million and $70k a week... Why would Richards even be in our ballpark? he's not playing for City and when he does he hasn't impressed throw in injury problems and its doubtful any of the "elite" clubs would take a chance on him leaving him to the rest to scrap over.
  9. same reason as they would for any other club, money.
  10. well it would be a novel concept for barca to actually buy a cb to play at cb.
  11. do remember hearing something like that but damned if I know if it was Scudamore. To him and his cronies its all about maximizing the "premier league brand" and the "lesser clubs" should feel honored to bask in the reflected glory of these clubs and for the most part most clubs are happy to just sit there collecting the massive tv money.
  12. Man Utd 2 - 1 Aston Villa Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Chelsea Southampton 3 - 0 Newcastle Stoke 1 - 1 Hull Swansea 1 - 1 Norwich West Brom 0 - 1 Cardiff Arsenal 1 - 3 Man City Fulham 0 - 2 Everton Liverpool 5 - 0 Tottenham Sunderland 1 - 1 West Ham
  13. Premier League: A History in 10 Matches by Jim White is a good read, its not just 10 match reports but rather a look at a lot of the other history around a club (or clubs) at the time, for example a look at Blackburns rise to the top and decline, Leeds rise and fall the ridiculousness of everything that happened to Portsmouth.
  14. piss poor return for the sums spent but thats what you get when the needs of the squad are secondary to "whats the biggest name in football we can get?"
  15. absolutely incredible the turnaround he's pulled off, will be horrific to see the big money vulture clubs just pick them apart.
  16. sounds stupid and a waste of time to me, just scrap international friendlies.
  17. Which is strange because if they want to win the league they can't be slipping on dog shite like Sundo. could be a case of thinking they only have to show up to win which in the kind of form they're in can happen I suppose. Long way to go yet though so plenty of time for Suarez to dribble around the entire mackem team twice then stick it in the net.
  18. I seem to be the only one who doesn't like it. Can't stand these soulless 'bowls'. All these new stadiums look exactly the same. nope feel the exact same
  19. Can't think of many examples of that myself? France under Domenech at World Cup 06 is one that springs to mind considering he really was a clown of a manager. Chelsea under Avram Grant to some extent too (one John Terry slip away from winning the CL after all)
  20. depends on the players really, sure it can work if its a very strong dressing room like Chelsea's was after Mourinhio first left.
  21. Sam Wallace ‏@SamWallaceIndy 21s MCFC fans to their hosts: 'You're the worst f****** champions, we've ever seen'
