Millwall about to break their 29 year transfer record of £800k.

Anyone subscribed to that eleven sports yet?

Sky do £7.99 day passes; used to think that was a rip-off, this makes it look like a bargain.

I can't see the images you're referring to (might be blocked) but I had a look at this a while back as the number was a bit unusual- it's on p 459 of this thread. Essentially, I don't think the £50m lease has anything to do with the Strawberry Place car park at all and more likely relates to the stadium. You can track the land down to the strawberry plaza site, not the stadium. Also the council owns the land the stadium sits upon and lease it to NUFC. The land cannot be leased to any other company or individual, so therefor it can’t be leased to Ashley and for him to lease it back to us. The money we have paid to for the lease is also to Ashley’s MASH holdings. Also I’m pretty sure the lease for SJP has already been paid or if not then it’s a nominal fee and is leased on a 99 year recurring lease, so the fee also does not add up. Not sure where you're getting it's paid to MASH from? Also, from 06 (they then started presenting the 'annual commitment' of ~£700k, before having to revert to disclosing all of the future costs, which is what caused the initial confusion as it looked like the amount skyrocketed on first glance):
-
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but the note in the accounts has just changed because of a change in the standards. It previously disclosed the annual cost, now it shows NPV of all future payments. Nothing to do with Strawberry Place (although that being quietly separated from the club is often overlooked); without looking any further I assume it's simply the lease on SJP.

Mendy must be the best 'like a new signing' ever.

Silva with his bairn

Sorry like, but who's letting him step up to that? Shelvey has to fucking take that.

Wait a second. You are saying he has removed the training ground form the clubs ownership to his own property company? Can you show me where this is in the accounts? Its filed under charges and its the only one outstanding. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00031014/charges/ydE5jbbmPGuDe2ovP2r7nbKjAPc "Persons entitled St James Holdings Limited Brief description Properties including the rear sports ground at darsley park whitley road benton newcastle upon tyne t/n TY495657 and TY495790 for more details please refer to schedule 2 of the instument. Contains fixed charge. Contains floating charge. Floating charge covers all the property or undertaking of the company. Contains negative pledge." Page 7 of the pdf file http://i65.tinypic.com/10eini0.jpg I could well be wrong mind. I can't be arsed reading the document properly, but it looks on first glance to be one of his loans to the club. Club's properties listed as security.

Is he still knocking about? Forgot he existed.

Hart signing for Burnley. Surely he's just going from being City's third choice, to Burnley's third choice when they have Pope and Heaton back?
-
How can you 'not like Gayle at all'?
-
Perfect signing in the circumstances; did everything asked of him and was responsible for some great memories that season (Norwich, Leeds and Huddersfield being the stand-outs). Genuinely thought he'd make a decent PL striker, but never was the same player after those injuries it seems.

Scarily probable.

Not really. Arsenal have brought in a few haven't they? But on the whole it's been the clubs such as West Ham, Everton, the promoted clubs spending really. Forget about Arsenal these days tbh. Know they've added a keeper. Rest of the other big boys seem to have added a solitary token signing (City - Mahrez; Man U - Fred; Chelsea - Jorginho). Makes Liverpool's already impressive business look even better.
