  1. Level 7 I'd imagine. B will probably be either end of the ground and A the East Stand.
  2. Tempted to get some quarter final tickets.
  3. Hugo Viana: "I hope that Newcastle get a great result, one Gary would have been proud of. He was a role model for me as both a person and a player. I am proud to have shared some great moments with him. Gary was one of the warmest people you could meet.” Andy Griffin: “I moved to Newcastle, I think three days later Speedo signed. He looked after me, and took me to training. We stayed in the same hotel, and he took me under his wing a little bit. I was only young when I signed for such a big club, and he was someone I looked up to for the way he conducted himself and the way he carried himself. He was a modest man, and a clever man. I can’t speak highly enough about him. He was a role model and an inspiration to me. It was an honour to play so many games with him. It’s terrible news. I’ve got a Wales shirt signed by him from when I was at Newcastle, and it’s a treasured possession. I’ve been lucky enough to play with some very good players, and Speedo was up there with the best of them for his all-round ability. He had everything. The amount of goals he scored from midfield was fantastic. He was a leader – one of Sir Bobby Robson’s “blue-chip gang”, as he called them, and rightly so.” http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/11/29/hugo-viana-expecting-a-fitting-tribute-to-gary-speed-72703-29859927/
  4. See my above post. Amazing to see all these tributes come in.
  5. It really hits home how important he was to our club when you see tributes like this from Saha and similarly from Viana yesterday, players who had short and relatively unspectacular spells at the club and players who you don't really expect to hear from, but it's obvious Gary made an excellent and lasting impression on them during the time they spent with us.
  6. Didn't catch the Shearer interview, did he mention whether or not Speed was with him at Old Trafford on Saturday?

Get in, fucking love him.
  9. The minutes silence respected properly followed by a massive applause on the referee's whistle is the best way to do it.

From the Gary Speed thread, I didn't want to take that thread off topic, have I missed something... does Big Shols have Twitter?
  11. I'm sure Owen would be a passenger. No change there.
  12. What the fuck was that little dig from Lawrenson? Cunt.
  13. I'm sure I heard on the radio earlier Michael Owen's on tonight.
  14. Viana's tribute: http://img.ly/aUZo
  15. I think with Bobby, because he was well into his senior years having lived a brilliant life coupled with the fact his health had been slowly deteriorating for a few years, it meant we all knew it was only a matter of time before he passed and so it was easier to accept, but this is just tragic.
  16. Fucking gutted about this like, I've seen footballing legends pass before, but this is the first player from my generation who I've been and watched many times. Despite the six brilliant years he had here, one of my most endearing memories of him is from 2 years after he left, Shearer's testimonial; I know it was only a friendly but at 37 he still genuinely looked a class act that night and a step up from the players who had been playing in his position at the club at the time. RIP Gary.

Unnecessary booking, aye, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy him showing a bit passion.
  18. Puma are reported to be making the kits for another 2 years, not sponsoring them. don't get it, how is it a "lucrative deal" if they are just making the kit, they have to pay us to make our kit??? Of course they pay us to make our kit, how did you think it worked?
  19. You should get the tickets no bother if you buy them the day they go on sale like. Man U tickets go on sale on Wednesday which is a month prior to the game so it should be similar for the mackems.

    Hatred?

The we he goes on about the lack of protection at our place too, he's obviously never seen it either. There's never anything more than a bit of posturing from both sides and there's always a massive police presence so nothing could ever kick off. Also, the SoL is hardly an intimidating place to go, even on derby day. The streets are lined with inbred hicks staring in amazement at the "big yella howeses on wheels". That also reminds me of the dafties who stood outside after the 1-1 celebrating the score by showing 1-1 with their fingers, in retaliation to us doing similar with regards the 5-1 on the way in, much to the amusement of us all.
