    John Carver

Damn that title, I just keep on clicking this thread thinking it's the Messi one
  2. If you don't get relegated, the best outcome for everybody involved is that he stays imho. It's still too soon for him to move somewhere else, and Ashley and co will probably be aware that he'll command a far greater fee in a few years.
  3. Was he playing for Man Utd that year they hammered Roma? The 5 or 6-1 where even Alan Smith scored? He was on loan at Zaragoza that season. They played them in the Champions League the year after but Totti didn't play in either game, even though Pique did. The Vieira one's bugging me. The only time I remember Barca playing Inter, Vieira was already at Man City, and I don't think they'd have crossed over at international level. Edit: FFS, old BBC match reports getting five hits at the exact same time I'm not that certain it's Vieira. Didn't he always wear #4 for Arsenal and France? I'm not certain either. He did wear 14 for Inter and it does look like an Inter shirt based on the font and that, but like I said their paths don't really cross. Bet he's getting them off classicfootballshirts or something. Inter, of course! Vieira was an unused sub in 2009 when we turned them 2-0 at Camp Nou (which would match the away shirt). Maybe he asked him for it.

  5. Was he playing for Man Utd that year they hammered Roma? Googled it, he didn't play in any of the two legs. I can't see Totti switching shirts with the 232423th choice CB anyway They played them two years running. He played in this one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7332289.stm Found the highlights on youtube and Roma wore the same kit as in the photo. Good sleuthing.

  7. I struggle to think when he could've got that Totti shirt, since it looks like a Roma away kit and I don't think we've played them in ages.
  8. Piqué has posted part of his shirt collection: http://estaticos02.marca.com/imagenes/2015/05/10/futbol/equipos/barcelona/1431277167_extras_noticia_foton_7_0.jpg
  9. Just Dear Suárez, Score goals, don't bite anyone. Cheers, VI.
  10. I have said that repeatedly, but it's pretty damning that after all the money they've spent, City have such a soso squad (for a supposedly top team). But that's what you get when you sign a former Barça DoF.
  11. It's crazy. When he's winning it's all down to him, when he's not it's not his fault. http://s30.postimg.org/r53ugo20x/Hypno_Pardew.png
  12. Come on Atlético! Would be better for us if they have secured 3rd place when we go there.
  13. Levante up; Atlético are in a bit of a slide at the moment; they'll put the third place at risk at this pace.
  14. Cheers, I expected that but I wanted to test it anyway.
  15. Can you lot watch the video at this link? http://videos.marca.com/v/dmmsF1khYaf-el-robo-con-ruleta-de-neymar.html It's legal - Marca have a deal with the broadcaster to post highlights - but I don't know if it's geo-locked (it probably is). Marca always post a bunch of sweet moves after games, and was wondering if it's worth to post them here from time to time. There's also La Liga's official youtube channel: . I suppose it's legit if I post it. Again, it's probably geolocked.
  16. He certainly doesn't seem to have the best football brain around, but he's isolated plenty of times. Whenever I watch you, I often see him beat a man and find himself without options after that, usually fluffing the play as a result.
  17. I think he'll stay one more season - as long as he feels like it, he doesn't seem to stick around at clubs for too long. Next in line is Zidane and he's not ready yet.
  18. Looks like Ancelotti's not gonna sit in the dugout for the rest of La Liga, yesterday's ref reported that Carlo disrespected him after the match and that's gonna mean a touchline ban for him.
  19. We're pretty insular on that regard; he'll have to make a lot of noise to get noticed again. I don't think there's another U21 game until next Fall anyway, we failed to qualify for the European tournament this year.
  20. He's already played for them, he just got dropped when Carver took over and his form (and everybody's) dipped.
  21. May have felt like it but pretty sure it was 2-2 One of the largest Spanish newspapers incorrectly called it a Valencia win in today's edition, I guess it felt that way a bit Valencia have built a nice team; their record against the other top 4 teams (bar us) is pretty good too. It's also a young team so they have ways to go; of course they have had the advantage of not playing in Europe this season so it will be harder for them next year. They need a top drawer striker too. Alcácer is a damn nice prospect but Negredo and Rodrigo have been largely ineffectual. Massive that they got Gaya to sign that new deal otherwise I think he would've been gone in the summer with it being so low. If they finish 4th and Sevilla win the Europa, Valencia still keep their CL qualifier right? Yeah, we would have 5 teams in the CL.
  22. I'm really surprised he has hit the ground running so quickly. 2 years ago this lad was playing amateur football ffs. Some natural talent he has.

  24. Diego Alves; 16/35 penalties saved in La Liga. Absurd stat. EDIT: 19/40 across all competitions.
  25. You still have to go to Madrid, which will be very difficult. It is not inconceivable that Barcelona go to the last match day needing a home victory for the title. I think you know what happened in this situation last time. Yeah, we won. 2009-2010 I am talking about last season when Atletico held Barca 1-1 to confirm the title. We weren't top though, it's not the same. That was pretty much a cup final where one of the finalists won the title with a draw, and happened to be the best defensive unit in Europe.
