Talk is that he has it done with a Qatar team but the club is trying to convince him to see out his last year. Imho, he's been pretty valuable this season as a squad member. You can see he isn't entirely comfortable with that role though.
-
I know I know... I really feel guilty posting here sometimes. Tbf, if I was a football player I would probably jump at the chance to be able to say I once played alongside Messi.
-
It's all a toast to the sun, though. I'm unconvinced we can sign any high-profile player willing to wait until the January window.
-
He's been leaving the players hung out to dry for weeks now, dodging blame as much as he can. The only motivation he's great at is making people in this forum want to punch his face.

The strike. The Spanish PFA wants a larger cut of the TV contract to go to players. They also have issues with taxation, but they are saying it's not part of this strike.
-
I think Verratti would be a far better fit, yeah.
-
According to "Tuttosport" (dunno how reliable they are), Juve have turned down an €80m bid from us for Pogba.
-
The fallout of the strike is being short of embarrassing. La Liga's head is comparing the FA and the PFA to Spanish terrorist group ETA and threatening to take them to court since the strike is illegal according to them. Childish accusations are flying all over and there's threats that the league will even finish this weekend for good. This country.

Yeah, that one. Then they defeated Espanyol the following year. Beautiful.

I remember when Sevilla first won the EL in 2006. What did their owner say? "Thank fuck we didn't get relegated, playing thursdays and saturdays is SO unphair". No, he said "we want to be the best team in Europe". They haven't quite got there, but have added five more trophies since that day, and are enroute to yet another final. Sorry, I have had a few too many pints and I may be slightly out or order tonight like. Ashley out.
-
Sevilla's dominance in the EL these past 10 years is a bit silly like. Shows what a well stewarded club willing to compete can do. Pity they are going to get relegated.
-
I just love how they feel compelled to prove they haven't lied to the fans by producing the actual letter. It's pathological, even small things like that are shrouded by duplicity and suspicion.
-
I thought Watford had been promoted to the Premier League.
-
Let's be honest He probably wasn't the best coach in that press conference Tbf if he has a pet he isn't even the best coach in his home.
-
2011 CL final. Only got one goal but he ran the show completely. Dat goal celebration too.
-
I guess there isn't a decent shot of the piece of paper where you can see what's written on it?
-
Or you could appoint somebody from here. I vote womblemaster.

Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
Village Idiot replied to Dave's topic in Football
There's lots of talk about Luís Enrique introducing stricter diet and training regimes. It's not just Messi, the entire team looks much fitter than last season. -
All those eye-talian names look the same; next it will revealed to be Tony Cascarino.
-
f***ing hell He could manage Messi and he'd have Piqué booting it up to his head and play Adriano and Alba in midfield. This underrating of managers pisses me off btw. Yes, at the end of the day players are the ones that do the work on the pitch, but managers do have a massive influence. Did Atlético have a better squad than us last season? Yet they did better in all major competitions.
-
I voted yes for kicks too. He's gone full retard. You never go full retard.
-
They did when necessary, beating Mourinho's Madrid 5-0 was one of many examples. It just looked so effortless. We would score 4 or 5 against teams without ever looking like we were trying. Instead of quick punches each goal felt like leaves falling in autumn.
-
I'm of the same opinion actually. If Modric is fit for the final (I assume they'll turn Juve), they have a pretty good chance. He's just that important for them. Ancelotti hasn't really solved Real's midfield puzzle without him.
