I love all the "but he cares!" "he means well!" defence the club is mounting for Carver. Somebody on here put it very eloquently (forgot who): I deeply care and love my girlfriend, but if I were to perform open hearth surgery to save her life, I'd still butcher her. He's just incompetent, good intentions don't make up for incompetence.

I don't think Jémez is the kind of rumor the club would engineer to trick fans; he's largely unknown in England I'm sure, and I can't see regular fans salivating about the manager of Rayo Vallecano. Now, if some of the local press started to talk of somebody like, I don't know, Klopp, that would be a bit more suspicious...

I'm going to post Sid Lowe's article on Jémez from last season and leave it for today. I promise! http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/mar/17/rayo-vallecano-all-or-nothing-approach-sid-lowe

Jémez is certainly a romantic. He just won't negotiate or compromise the style, no matter what, no matter where. He'll play the same against Almería than against Barça. He won't make defensive sub to protect a 1-0. He's often criticized for that, as big teams routinely rip Rayo a new arsehole; but I admire this kind of commitment, to come to the Camp Nou and say "f*** this 10-men behind ball bollocks, we can play as good as you". If you want your players to buy into an idea, you have to embody it. And he has the results to back up what he's doing. There was this period during his second season at Rayo; they were rock-bottom, 8 points off 17th IIRC. Media were all "he should change his tactics, grind out some points". But he just wouldn't compromise; "We don't know how to play that way [defensively]" - he would say - "If we play like we believe we're going to lose the game, we will lose the game". Ultimately they clicked again and went on a run, leaving the team comfortably midtable.

This is fun. Real Madrid have admitted to have funded astroturfing campaigns via social media, blogs, etc... to - for example - generate favorable states of opinion, improve the image of unpopular players, create the impression that refereeing is unfavorable to them, undermining certain journalists regarded as hostile... I mean, I'm aware this is probably commonplace, but it's the first time I see a club admitting to buying media plants, and I wonder to what extent clubs do it. This was done within a court case (that doesn't involve directly them), where the company they hired to perform the astroturfing is being investigated for bribes and fraud.

No, just sleepy. Good night.

I wonder what's on the cassette.

In this context it means to leave for England.
-
That's because Isco can't dictate play. James has far more to his game than him in that regard.

They never have enough money.

These tours are the bread and butter of preseason, anyway that group looks like a piece of cake.

Apparently Jémez held contract talks with Rayo this Monday and they broke down, which I guess is the reason why all those links are starting to appear. Honestly, I know Ashley will probably go for someone "safe" and boring ala McLaren, but you would be in for quite a ride with Jémez.

I translated it in a rush. It's not too clean... "get back the greatness lost in recent times" probably better.
-
Now for real; Marca have uploaded the article linking Jémez with you. Also Aston Villa and Stoke, but have you as forerunners. http://www.marca.com/2015/04/29/futbol/equipos/rayo/1430304887.html

Nothing, somebody edited Jémez' wikipedia page to show he was joining you

I can't find any of these "reports in Spain". Nothing on Marca, to be sure.

That got a good laugh over here too. So phony
