  1. You'd love him; honestly. Talks the talk and walks the walk; he'd make NUFC a team to be proud of being a fan, again. I guess the fact that he's kept Rayo up comfortably with zero money makes it a decent shout as an Ashley appointment. He has a very strong personality though, he's not as servile as Pardew or Carver.
  2. I don't know about the CM scouting bit, but it's true that Rangers sought to loan Messi when he was still a Barça B player. We had a bit of a relationship with them at the time, having sold Arteta to them.
  3. I'm aware of that; it's still an impressive performance coming from 0-2 down.
  4. Fair play to Sherwood; I didn't rate him that much, but he seems to have turned Villa around, and with positive football to boot.
  5. He's in amazing form at the moment. Puzzling how Simeone took him off in the CL with 30 minutes to play. He's carrying all the team's attacking threat at the moment.
  6. Wheels coming off at the Pardew wonderland, it seems.
  7. Espanyol were hopeless today. Even with 10 men we were more likely to score another goal than them. Anyway, Monday's gonna be a good day at work.
  8. Espanyol manager said yesterday that defeating us today would erase their failure to qualify for the Copa final. It wouldn't. That's Espanyol in a nutshell.
  9. Granada look like they are going to get relegated from La Liga; if they manage to survive the Pozzos will have a team in 3 of the top 4 leagues in Europe.
  10. We could have used Delima's expert opinion on the issue.
  11. Sevilla have just lost Pareja to an ACL. He *is* Sevilla's defence, so this might edge it for Fiorentina imho.
  12. Touché "He would be a quality player for them, if true"
  13. They are saying Depay to Liverpool for €25m. Quality player if true.
  14. Fingers burned by appointing a manager who wanted to do well. I get the feeling that since Keegan your board seeks to only appoint managers that they believe will "owe them a favor"; either assistant managers given a chance at the main job (Hughton, Carver) or hasbeens that had fallen off the face of the earth (Kinnear, Pardew). A way to foster a servility that they wouldn't get with a reputable manager able to get a job elsewhere.
  15. They are going to appeal, but experts say it's unlikely to get reversed. They could always go and get the law changed (the city council has been a big supporter of the move), but it's not at all likely in the current political climate.
  16. Nigel Reo-Coker as your midfield lynchpin Marlon Harewood leading the line Mascherano and Tévez in your bench. Oh wai--
  17. Garay/Otamendi/Musacchio are allright imho.
  18. Madrid's highest regional court has struck down the rezoning of the land where the Vicente Calderón's is built, judging it to be against regional laws. This makes Atlético's sale of the Calderón and subsequent move to a new stadium unfeasible. The suit was brought by a supporters group that was opposed to the move.
  19. One possible explanation is outstanding loyalty payments to players that the club has sold.
  20. I have. Both legs against PSG for starters. It's the same old story; we press up pitch and that open us to counters, which makes us vulnerable at the back. But that's not different to how it was back in 2008-2011, just with declining players.
