Happy with that; if somehow you stay up the way's clear for the guy in my avatar. Yeah, I'm always the optimist.
-
Nah, not true. Houghton and Pardew both left with better career outlooks than before they became NUFC managers.

I used to sing the Villa Maravilla song :'( Also, that "Mi Celestes" song is written in some terrible (and grammatically incorrect) Spanish

CD San Serván, a Regional Preferente (Spanish 5th tier) team, tricked their rivals in the promotion playoff race via twitter. They tweeted they had lost the last game of the regular season, despite having won. Thinking they had already secured a playoff place, their rivals Racing Valverdeño conceded a draw - this, in fact, gave San Serván the coveted spot.

Pretty nice interview with Xavi in one of our regional papers. Says one of his unfulfilled dreams is playing for Athletic Club (not that he could have done it). Says that he's so obsessed with his pitch role that he sits in a corner in rooms and restaurants so he can have a good view of the room and how people are disposed in it

It's Sunday. I know the club hasn't given you reasons to expect any kind of decisive action, but if anything happens it's going to be tomorrow. He must be sacked; no player will want to play for him after the way he lost the plot.
-
Decent, not spectacular. He's steadied the ship but hasn't achieved the consistency to aim for Europe; fans I know often complain he's too conservative. I think it's wait and see until he gets a preseason and can bring his own players.
-
Didn't you get rid of Allardyce the season *before* you went down? Like a year and a half before?
-
Granada defeated Getafe today 1-2, giving them a shot in the arm in their relegation fight. One of the goals was a penalty via blatant handball by a player called Naldo. Naldo is on loan at Getafe... from Udinese.

Monchi (the DoF) does an incredible job
-
Nice to see you've come round to sense.

Well, there's always Valencia next week. They were the team that broke Madrid's 20+ winning streak earlier in the season, but I don't rate their chances at the Bernabéu. Looks like we'll need 9 out of 9 to win this.

Howay Sevilla!
-
Aye, refereeing has been dire.
-
We need to stop promoting from within and actually appoint qualified people. As interim; you won't get a proper manager three games before the end of season. It's just about removing the turd stinking out the place.
-
Needs sacking ASAP, only if it's just to bring Beardsley or whoever; he's lost the plot, he's lost the players. There's no way of picking up the pieces and producing a result with this state of things in the dressing room.
-
I'm going to hold my hands up regarding Sherwood. I thought he was just an arrogant fool out of his depth, but he's doing a fantastic job at Villa.
-
Due to head to head a draw in one of the final 3 matches won't be enough if Real win all their matches, right? Yep. I'm pretty sure we'll win the remaining two home fixtures; Real Sociedad don't travel well and Depor are just bad. Atlético away is the sticking point; yeah, I'm sure they wouldn't want to gift Real Madrid the league title, but I can't see Simeone not competing and it's not like they have much love for us either.
-
He's been throwing the players under the bus to save his skin for weeks now; nee surprise they don't want to play for him.
-
I don't even want him returned to his previous post. I want him sacked, homeless and made to suffer. Can't see him getting a job after this. Low level coaching at the very best. In a way, I sort of pity him; from being given the biggest break in his life, to ruining the rest of his career in just the space of 4 months. Only has himself to blame, though (although he seems to have decided it's the players' fault).
-
Anyway, pretty emphatic result. Córdoba probably didn't deserve that, although they crumbled spectacularly in the second half. Both Messi and Suárez are in spectacular form. Now, if somehow Madrid dropped points at Sevilla tonight, we'd have this in the bag. Fingers crossed, since this is the only fixture I see them having trouble with until the end of the season.
-
Given that he's neck-by-neck with Cronaldo for the Golden Boot, this is very generous of him.
-
I gotta say it, Alves has been pretty great these past couple months. Nothing like chasing a fat contract, I guess.
-
I hate you. I purposely resisted the urge to make any mention to the Leicester game Honestly your defeat left me in quite a bad mood, but Messi is setting things right. 0-4
