  1. At least he's stopped comparing himself with Rafa now.
  2. 100% no. I called it a day on going to the match as soon as it was announced that Bruce was getting the job. I knew exactly how it would turn out, performances and results and it wasn't something that I wanted to waste my time on.
  3. They had their chance with Masters and it was a bit of a waste of time. I was certainly hoping for a few more pressing questions to be asked. Doubt he'll give them time of day once we don't even play in his league. I didn't renew my NUST membership anyway so I don't really have a right to ask questions of them any more I suppose.
  4. Craig Hope is absolutely fantastic like. The best NUFC journo out there by a country mile.
  5. Again apologies for asking (but I don't watch the games anymore) did he seem to have any say so on the team/formation/tactics from the sidelines last night or was he ushered into the stands? Hypothetically speaking, mainly because it won't happen, would anyone still be happy for him to take over the final games if Bruce was sacked or would that not be the answer? As I said on the Bruce thread I think we are down regardless but others might still think differently.
  6. He's an absolute shithouse. Look at David Moyes down at Sunderland. He had no history or supposed allegiance to them and still had the decency to refuse the £3m pay off he was entitled to. This despicable twat will take us down and still hold on for his money. I live 15 mins walk from the training ground and I'm thinking about walking along there tomorrow to see if I can catch him going in so I can shout at him in person instead of venting on here but no doubt they'll all have the day off.
  7. Aye what was Bruce 10th or 11th choice wasn't it? If the job was so unattractive 2 years ago when we'd just finished the season so strongly and were a solid mid table team imagine the standard of applicants we'd get now! They'd literally be, well they'd be Steve Bruce levels of shit wouldn't they? Said last week sack him, keep him, do what they want it won't make a bit of difference to what happens this season. Bruce has destroyed the team, the spirit and the togetherness they had under Rafa (remember that 30 second clip at Leicester) and the players have downed tools and stopped playing for him. You can't suddenly flick a switch and get them going again, their heads have gone. I want Bruce gone because I absolutely despise the bloke. He stands side by side with Ashley as my 2 most hated figures ever to be associated with NUFC but sadly keeping him or binning him now won't make any difference the the outcome for this season.
  8. In the job or life ? Would never wish death of course, but I actually feel like it’s the only he will go. 2 wins in 20 games - fuck me I just want him gone. If that's through death I'm fine with that. I detest the bloke.
  9. If UEFA are to be taken seriously for the way they are going about tackling racism they need to throw Slavia out of the competition and allow Arsenal a bye into the next round. Usually I disagree with expulsion from competitions if fans are racist as it isn't fair on the players but it appears with Slavia it's both a problem in the dressing room and on the terraces.
  10. A mate of mine texted me a GET IN! last night after the Fulham game. To be honest I didn't even know the score. I just replied asking him if he didn't think it was a bit sad that he'd spent this season celebrating results from other games more than he had Newcastles results.
  11. Same here. I think this past week was the first week since all the takeover carry on started where I haven't really given it any thought. I think I've just come round to the acceptance of it not happening now. Stopped going to the matches completely after Benitez left, stopped even watching them on TV during this season, the Brentford game being the straw that broke the camels back, and now there's only this place where I have any sort of connection with the club. I've even stopped any NUFC chat on twitter as it tends to be full of idiots. I can see a full divorce in the near future.
  12. A prime Kluivert for a couple of seasons would have been incredible to witness first hand. Not that we could ever have afforded him mind. I remember watching a documentary about Barcelona years ago when he played for them and he accounted for 25% of their entire wage bill! Sadly he'd lost interest by the time we got him and we only saw the odd glimpse.
  13. Admittedly I didn't watch it but from what I've read Villa were hopeless against us and a semi competent team would have seen them off. Wolves have been average at best, highlighted in the fact that they couldn't even beat us in either game this season and although Arsenal have picked up of late, excluding their loss to Olympiakos, I don't think they're a stick on to win any given game. If we lose tonight, and I'm agreeing with the bookies here and think we will, there's every chance of us being in the bottom 3 in three games time and if/when we do end up in there I don't see us getting back out. So bloody frustrating because this whole sorry affair could have been so easily avoided.
  14. No malice in it but he could have done the keeper a very nasty injury getting him in the face like that. He'd only been on the pitch a couple of minutes as well. 2-0 to Slavia Prague now, cracking free kick for the second one and Rangers now down to 9 men.
  15. Am I right in thinking we've got a pretty shit record v Brighton? Remember beating them home and away in the Championship when we both got promoted but I can't remember us beating them since.
  16. Pardew managed ADO Den Haag in Holland as well. For those not up to speed with Dutch football they are basically the Millwall of the Netherlands. Their Ultras became so sick of him one day they interrupted one of his training sessions, armed with Tactics boards and flip charts, and forced him and his players to sit through a briefing to show where they thought they were going wrong. Must have severely dented Pardew's ego that!
  17. Just under 44k. Looked about right as well. The entire Level 7 was sold out every game (family enclosure, singing corner and most away teams sold out their allocation as well). Only noticeable gaps tended to be right at the back of the Gallowgate and front of the Leazes. Hughton wasn't a particularly popular manager at the time, nor was he unpopular mind. More just a "Meh" sort of manager really. His popularity improved massively throughout the season and then into the next season before he was sacked. When you think he brought us back up, had us in a decent position in the league and was sacked yet Bruce has just been a complete s*** show yet his job seems safe it just defies all logic really. I remember numerous games where there were significant gaps. Maybe my mind is getting the better of me, but I recall some games that looked less than the advertised attendances. My point was the early attendances were lower than 40k, the attendances only increased as performances were good and we were doing well. Plus, as you say, Hughton’s popularity increased. A s*** start to a Championship season, under a disliked manager is likely to see the opposite and attendances fall from the starting figure of 37k. Aye the first game was just under 37k. Live on Sky and Reading brought next to no fans. Jumped up to just under 44k for the next game. As I say I thought the crowd figure looked about right back then, around 8,000 gaps on average. Far more accurate than the past few seasons figures anyway! Agree attendance will nose dive next season. The warning signs are there now. Having to give away 10k season tickets in the Premier League is unheard of. Could see crowds hovering around the low 30,000s next season. A lot of people who went purely out of habit could well give it up as well. I know of a few of these who now aren't arsed about going back.

  19. Agree with what a lot of people are saying now and that's that it's simply too late to change it now. The rot has well and truly set in, what's that 2 wins in 19 now? I honestly think that changing things now would end the same way as it did the last 2 times. The time to do it was after the Sheff Utd match. That was when it was clear beyond any doubt that we were a good bet for relegation if nothing changed. To make it clear I'm not saying stick with Bruce, I can't stand the bloke, never wanted him here and have wanted him gone ever since he set foot inside the place. I'm just saying whether he stays or goes I think the final outcome will be exactly the same.

    Jacob Murphy

Shows how desperate things are getting when people are now desperate for Jacob Murphy to get a start!
  21. We beat some decent teams in the Intertoto Cup and of course qualified for the UEFA Cup through it. They beat 4th Division Tranmere Rovers to win the Pizza Cup and in doing so took the trophy off current holders, 4th Division Salford City. How they've got the nerve to mock our Intertoto win and yet celebrate their Papa John pizza Cup wildly I do not know. It is quite amusing though!
  22. Nobody seems to mention this lad anymore. I don't bother watching the games these days but was he in the dugout tonight or stuck up in the stand? Seemed to be loads of fanfare about him when he first arrived and after the Everton game but he barely gets a mention now. In fact I had to scroll down to the bottom of page 2 to find the topic about him!
  23. He hasn't. Bruce stays regardless.
  24. We have the worst owner in the league, the worst manager, and our best 3 players are injured. What's there to worry about? Seriously though agree with everything you've said. I can't now even bring myself to see his face on TV let alone listen to him talk with the shit and lies that come out of his fat ugly face and don't even get me started on that pathetic accent. Not a word I use lightly but I do actually hate the bloke. I despise him.
