If Bruce abandons his attacking, expansive, front foot strategy 6 games into the season he'll leave me with no other choice than to cancel my already cancelled season ticket.

I'm in town Saturday as I'm at a concert at The Sage but as well as not going to the match I won't even look for anywhere in town to watch it beforehand. We're just going for some bait instead. I'll check the score 2 or 3 times on my phone though. Matchgoer over 35 years, season ticket for 28 of them. Never thought it would come to this!

I'm sure the £56 they're charging for the East Stand will tempt a lot of the boycotters into attending.

Not really clued up on football finances but does this mean there's a gaping hole in next seasons budget?

As was Liverpool. Liverpool was brilliant. A proper bear pit type atmosphere hardly ever seen in England anymore. Even Klopp commented on the hostility and asked if there had been any previous between the 2 clubs. The 2nd half against Man City was excellent as well which you'd expect I suppose. The other game I went to was Crystal Palce. Awful game and a flat atmosphere.

Watched Benfield lose 3-2 at home to Runcorn today. Despite leading 2-1 at half time they just didn't get going in the 2nd half and Runcorn deserved their win. Crowd given as 370 which looked suspiciously low. Looked more like around 500 but of course the gate money is split in the FA Cup

Benfield will be hoping for 300+ tomorrow. Almost double what they get for a standard league game. The likes of Consett regularly get 400+ for league games. https://www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/divisions/15/ Scroll to the bottom for the attendance table.

The Northern League is the best supported league in the Country at that level as well. Big FA Cup game tomorrow at Newcastle Benfield when they play Runcorn in the FA Cup. Sadly Benfields Chairman Jimmy Rowe passed away on Wednesday so it'll be an emotional afternoon. He started the club from scratch in 1988 and it's come on in leaps and bounds in the past 31 years. They've got one of the best grounds in the league, a vibrant clubhouse and Social scene and a thriving Junior section as well. He did so much for grass roots/kids football in the East End of the city and North Tyneside and will be a big miss.

Tbf I only went to 3 games last season, and 2 of them had excellent atmospheres.
-
I haven't been to any of the games this season but from what I've been told from people who have is that the atmosphere has hit an all time low. Completely dead.
-
Brighton will be lower than Watford was anyway. Then it's Man Utd after that and the crowd will go up for that game. That's how it works.
-
We've had a couple of 41k PL crowds since the stadium expansion. A Sunday Sky game v Stoke and a midweek game v Blackburn were both 41k odd.
-
And to think that only a few weeks ago Steve Bruce laughed at the protestors and said they'd all be in their seats once the season started.
-
I've got no respect for him at all. Horrid individual. Says it all that none of the fans of any of his former teams hold him in any kind of regard or have any respect for him.
-
Looked nowhere near from the pictures I seen. Theres a photo showing most of the Leazes and about half of the Milburn and there's at least 7/8k empty seats there and that doesn't include the Gallowgate where the upper tier was very sparsely populated or the empty seats at the Leazes End of the East Stand.or the NE corner which was quite empty. I've been in 44k crowds at SJP before and it was a lot fuller than that. Everyone I've spoken to who was there has given an estimate of between 35-40k.

Bumped into a lad at Peterborough walking in the town with his kids and asked him why he had a toon top on then offered him out behind a taxi office ffs. The man is a toucher He thinks that because he's a OAP nobody will lay a finger on him. Would be hilarious if the lad has thought fuck that and knocked him out anyway.
-
No chance theres 44k there yesterday. Theres at least 8k empty seats in that photo and it only covers part of the stadium.

League Cup 2nd Round - Newcastle unsurprisingly knocked out by Leicester

Extra 20 minutes away from the wife tonight thanks to the pens. What's not to like? -
In real time I thought it wasn't a pen. Then, the first replay it did look like it might be given and then they showed it from the opposite angle and I thought no way is that a penalty. Well done VAR!

Cattermole made his debut for VVV Venlo today I noticed as a 73rd minute sub. Booked 10 minutes later.

Literally the most famous person ever to come out of Sunderland, probably just ahead of Adam Johnson. What a place!

Spurs vs Newcastle United - 25/08/2019 @ 16:30 - Live on Sky
Wallsendmag replied to 54's topic in Football
Score will be whatever Spurs want it to be so probably 4 or 5. Obviously we'll get nil. -
Are the away fans still asking for him to "give them a wave" or has that died off already?
