  1. 48 pages and 940 replies on the SMB. Don't think they've taken the news too well although it must be a bit annoying letting an England international go to your hated rivals for nowt.
  2. Certainly has. 17 pages last time I checked!
  3. I heard 5,000 down on last season as well. To put that into perspective that equates to a section around the size of the entire East Stand that have chucked it. No wonder they're doing all these ticket offers. They're next problem is that they're going to need to reduce season ticket prices otherwise it won't be worth having one. And to think at the last fans forum they tried to tell people only 6% hadn't renewed.
  4. Don't write them off yet. Apparently they're preparing another appeal as the tax disc on the Maribor team bus had expired.
  5. 5 game season tickets now on sale starting from the Hull match on September 20th.
  6. People keep banging on about this, when was the last time it happened? We can spin it whichever way we like, but the truth of the matter is Pardew is our manager because the majority of our fans don't mind him being here at all. If he was regularly getting the sort of abuse that he did against Cardiff at the back end of last season he wouldn't last a month. He's here because plenty of our w***** fans support him, as simple as that. I was at the Man City match and didn't speak to a single person who supports him. The Cardiff game last season showed what the crowd think of him when he couldn't even come out of his dugout. A lot of people just have no confidence in Ashley appointing a decent manager in his place should Pardew leave. For the record I can't stand the bloke and want him gone but I can understand those who are worried about who will come in in his place.
  7. Only if you become a member though. The cheapest general sale tickets were £36 for adults. They have a bit of a problem in that they've lost a lot of season ticket holders from last season so they have a lot more seats to fill on a match by match basis. At the moment they seem to be concentrating on getting the young supporters in to fill those seats (£5 a ticket for our first 2 home games for bairns) but if they're still not selling out I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of adult tickets drops as well. 28 quid if your a member is quite cheap imo as it's a Category A game. I paid almost 40 quid 3 years ago for the same fixture. We don't have category matches as such any more. Last season games against Mackems, Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City were all priced differently. What they seem to do now is gauge what sort of demand there is likely to be and then charge the prices accordingly. This season Mackems at home will no doubt start at £45 again, Man Utd/Liverpool £40, Chelsea/Arsenal/Man City £36, then around £30 for the likes of Spurs and Everton with Leicester, Crystal Palace etc 20 odd quid.

  9. Season tickets are still on sale now so I would imagine they just come down a bit more in price after each each game. As Disco has said though you're far better off just picking and choosing and that way if we sell our best player(s) in January and the players and manager just give up on the rest of the season you can simply just stop going as you haven't forked out for all the games in advance.
  10. Totally agree. I know of loads of people who've been going for decades and Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew won't stop them going to support their team. You've got to respect that in the same way that those who still buy the season tickets should respect those that have said enough is enough and don't feel they can financially contribute to this regime any longer. At the end of the day it's a personal decision and there isn't a right or wrong answer.
  11. I can't understand the reaction of most the NUFC fans I've spoken to after yesterday's defeat. People saying it was a really good performance and we were unlucky. From where I was sat it looked to me than Man City were playing in 2nd gear and we still couldn't manage a single shot on target in 90 minutes. Personally I thought we gave them a better game up here last season.
  12. I'm a Newcastle fan so I want us to win every week. The rest takes care of itself.
  13. Usually i'd be quite optimistic with the signings we've made but then I remember who is in charge of developing and coaching these new players and realise that we're just wasting our time. The likes of De Jong especially seems to really have something about him but we all know he'll be nowhere near the player he is now this time next year after Pardew's been let loose on him.
  14. Man City tickets went on sale today and going by the seating plan loads have chucked it, as many as 10k I would say. Another giveaway to poor st sales is that they are selling kids tickets for a fiver for a match against the league champions, something they were doing at the back end of last season.

    Sunderland

They've raised over 6 grand now. Incredible and humbling and i'm not ashamed to say reading that thread on RTG brought a tear to my eye. Goes to show that some things in life are far more important than footballing rivallry. 99% of the lads and lasses who support NUFC and SAFC are thoroughly decent people who share a love for football and their club. Of course we knew this anyway. I remember some of the fantastic gestures that came from them after Sir Bobby Robson died but they've excelled themselves this time as this was just 2 ordinary NUFC fans travelling to watch their team play. All that's left to say is well done to all the Sunderland fans, a credit to your club and to football. I'm sure we would do exactly the same if it were 2 of their supporters but I pray that theory is never put to test.
  16. This is another little clique that has been used to brainwash people. Our ticket prices aren't low. Sure if you've got a bairn and don't mind sitting up in the gods there's a decent deal to be had but does anyone actually know how expensive standard 1 year season tickets are? Gallowgate/Leazes: £578 (£30.42 per game) East Stand/Milburn Paddocks: £710 (£37.36 per game) Leazes End, Sports Bar £724 (£38.10 per game) Milburn, Bar 1892: £819 (£43.10 per game) Milburn, Platinum Club: £924 (£48.63 per game) Season tickets certainly aren't cheap, especially considering the standard of football on display and the average wage of the area. For comparison sunderland season tickets are typically £200 cheaper, ie £370 behind the goals and £500 for a good seat along the side of the pitch.
  17. Love that comment on Facebook when he says he was going to buy a season ticket but he couldn't get the payment over the line
  18. Attendance for the Man City game might be interesting if it's true that so many people have packed in their season tickets. Match will definitely be moved for the telly and no doubt tickets will start at around £40 with it being a category A game which will put a load of people off. We had 43,000 for our opening home game of 2010/11 v Villa and 46,000 for our opening home game of 2011/12 v Arsenal who brought 3,200 fans (both moved for TV). Wouldn't be surprised if it's around the 40k mark against Man City especially if we've lost 6/7k season ticket holders.
  19. We didn't even manage 50k for our first home game of last season man.
  20. They do a flex 15 ticket as well where you can choose any 15 league games to attend for £195 which works out at £13 a game.
  21. Attack one of the cups he said???
