West Brom 0-2 Newcastle United 9/11/14 FT post-match reaction from page 30
Wallsendmag replied to midds's topic in Football
Tbf all the chanting bar the one about their support was pro NUFC/positive so I'd question your final paragraph where you state there is a 70%-30% ratio of abusing people vs supporting the team. -
If it was guaranteed he would lose his job if we lost against QPR yes I'd take it but he won't hence why I want us to win that game as I did today. I've come to terms with the fact that he's not going anywhere any time soon so I'll get behind the players and hope we continue this run of form for a while longer.
-
Can't stand Pardew but I'm not stupid enough to think he's getting sacked any time soon so I'll just channel my energy into supporting the team, ie not wishing them to get beat every week.
-
We won. It's the 5th time in a row we've done that. Pardew isn't going anywhere so the best thing to do is to forget him, support the players and enjoy watching a winning team. If you can't do that it may be time to look for another hobby as following NUFC clearly isn't doing it for you. I don't like Pardew either and never will (look at my avatar) but all this wanting us to lose and not celebrating when we score or win is just plain silly. It's up to anyone how they support the team, if thats how you feel that's fine but telling people to "look for another hobby" isn't fair. Wanting us to lose isn't supporting the team. In your opinion. Look up the definition of "supporter" in the dictionary then. No. Some people look for the bigger picture. Happened against Souness, is happening now. You don't want to do it. That's up to you. No one is slagging the team. People want the best for NUFC. You don't get to dictate to people what being a supporter is. So what about those who grief the players when they lose the ball? They "supporting" the team are they? Those who grief the players who lose the ball are doing so out of frustration not because they want the team they claim to support to lose the match. Surely even you can see the difference there. The manager is going nowhere so what's the point in people still wanting us to lose? Now once again look up the definition of "supporter" in the dictionary.

Just harmless embarrassing banter really. I doubt the West Brom fans, who are a great set of fans by the way, will be losing too much sleep over it. Too many people have gone soft these days. Abusing opposition supporters used to be a staple diet for any supporter but a lot of modern day fans get all precious over it. No wonder atmospheres are practically non existent in PL stadiums these days. Thought our support down there sounded top class on the telly. I wouldn't get yourself too worked up over it really. In the grand scheme of things it really isn't important. What's more embarrassing is the deadly silence at home games. -

We certainly weren't "very poor" today like.

Deserves the nomination tbf.

Wouldn't normally back them to win but noticed yesterday that they were 3/1 to beat Palace. Any PL side, with the exception of Burnley, at those odds to beat Crystal Palace has to be worth a punt (gambling head on) so i've stuck a tenner on. Will be happy to lose my cash but thought it was a very generous price.

Love Keegan like.

0-2. Would have been more confident if this game had been at Anfield for some reason. -
Once again he seems to have stumbled on a winning formation by accident than tactical genius.
-
Never been a fan of his and no doubt he was badly exposed last night but so were the rest of the back four and goalkeeper and Bayern were on a different planet at times.
-
I'm confident of 2 heavy defeats in the next 2 games. Still won't cost him his job though.
-
Missing the bit out when he told him he was free to find a new club.
-
3-4 now. Hope they get an equaliser. Always had a soft spot for Carlisle.

60,000 refunds currently being processed.

Beckham did really well out of his career for a player who lacked pace, couldn't beat an opponent with a trick and couldn't head or tackle either.

Pardews book of excuses states it's almost impossible to win a PL match after playing in the Europa League the previous Thursday so I'd have to go for a comfortable away win. If they turn us over no doubt he'll say we were rusty having not played in 8 days and they were far sharper for getting a game in on the Thursday night though. -

Apparently an adult ticket in the Family Enclosure against Leicester is only £14.
