  1. So you lied about me saying he was easily our best CB then? Thanks for clearing that up. He played today and we won. Wouldn't take him out the team for Mbwia next time out. And yes you are stupid. Very stupid.
  2. You show yourself up as more stupid with every post you make. Show me where I said he was easily our best CB because I say you've now had to resort to telling porkies.
  3. Dear me a new low for this pleb, gloating because we've conceded a goal.
  4. Defeat as usual. Not all that bothered by how many.
  5. And you feel vindicated because be played better than Yanga-Mbiwa for 45 minutes last night? He's still pony and championship level at best. The thing is that Mbwia doesn't even look Championship standard this season. In fact he got ripped apart at Morecambe on numerous occasions and they were down the bottom of League 2 at the time, probably still are.
  6. It's like last season never happened. Williamson is fine as a 4th choice CB and for the occasional spot start. When clubs count on him playing each week, he's easily exploited. Our entire back 4 has been exploited all season without him in it. No one in their right mind could argue that Mbwia is a better option than Williamson at present. Gary Neville called it spot on last night.
  7. Dear god you are thick. With Taylor being injured if you don't play Williamson you have to play Colo and Mbwia who up until yesterday had conceded 6 in a game and a half. Surely not too difficult to grasp. Taylor's probably back for Cardiff. And no, I'd still rather Colo and MYM than Mike f***ing Williamson because of one half in which the opposition had stopped trying. Keep the personal insults coming, though, you utter f***ing winner in the lottery of life. As my life doesn't mainly consist of trolling messageboards such as this with 1000's of pointless ramblings I'd say I'm doing a lot better than you are in the lottery of life. Keep the insults coming if it makes you feel better about yourself though young un. I don't why ronaldo is arguing with you, he himself mentioned countless of times there's no 'future' in Colo and Mbiwa I do get the impression he could start an argument in an empty room.

  10. Think you're the clueless one on this. We looked as solid at the back during the 2nd half last night as we have in ages and you want to change it around again and stick with the pairing that's shipped goals all over the place and 6 in the last game and a half in the league. Thick as pig sh! t you are.
  11. Not as awful as Taylor and Mbwia though and doesn't cost us as many goals. Statistically we concede less with Colo and Williamson as our CB pairing.
  12. Poor example as Taylor played alongside Williamson as much as Colo did last season. A better example would have been to use the season before that. Taylor didn't play again after his injury v Chelsea on Dec 3rd and for the rest of the season, with the odd exception we played with Williamson and Colo as our centre halves. Of course we finished 5th that year so it doesn't fit your agenda. 2 seasons ago both Williamson and Colo were as slow as CBs get. They're 2 years older and 2 years slower. It's an agenda of mine to want the best for NUFC and playing those two together is an absolutely preposterous thing to advocate. They played together for 45 minutes last night against one of the in form Premier League strikers, kept him quiet and kept a clean sheet. Taylor has proved time and time again that he's a liability and most sensible people can see past the fist pumping and geeing up of the crowds to see what he is. Mbwia doesn't seem much better but to give him the benefit of the doubt it's still early days for him yet. Our current best pairing is Colo and Williamson.

    Alan Pardew

The 2nd half performance was decent but I feel some people are over exaggerating how good it was purely because it was so much better than that 1st half. Facts are, even a half decent manager would be getting far more out of that team than what Pardew is. 6 games played including games v West Ham, Fulham, Villa and Hull and only 7 points to show for it. Can't see anything other than another relegation struggle in all honesty unless we get a decent manager but of course that will never happen as long as Ashley is here.

  15. Proved once again he's the 2nd best centre half at NUFC. Knows his limitations unlike Taylor and Mbiwa, who is awful by the way, and does what a centre half needs to do which is to head and clear the ball. Collocini can do the more fancy stuff next to him. Hope he starts against Cardiff.
  16. They are some of the bitterest sets of fans in the country are Everton. It comes from the fact that they've been living in the shadows of a far bigger club just across the park from themselves and when they were at their best in the 1980's they weren't allowed to compete in Europe so still couldn't attract the top players and ended up going downhill fast. Anyway they'll beat us tonight.

    Sunderland

Hush now, it doesn't fit the narrative. What a load of sweaty arse crack. Cisse gets enough criticism in his own thread and several others round here, you've justified comparing jozy with the most out of form player on our books. Cracking, he's Americas best player as well yeah? Your boy has been s*** so far, equally as s**** as his hull days. Hopefully for you he'll score against us and you can be proud of your nations talents once again. First, I've never claimed he's our best player. He's not. I've only ever claimed he's better than he's given credit for by some of you hellbent on your anti-Mackem/anti-Yank crusade. He has not been s***. Next to Giaccherini, he has easily been the best player on a very poor team. RVP himself wouldn't be scoring for Sunderland at the moment, they're just that bad. And to pre-empt your next quip, no, that statement is not akin to saying "Altidore is just as good as RVP." His hold-up play has been quite good, he makes smart passes, and he can rip off a good shot. When he gets the ball, which is few and far between. Amazing how whenever he receives service for the U.S., he scores. Whenever he received service for AZ, he scored. Of course, 'CONCACAF and the Eredivisie are s***' blah blah blah and all that utter nonsense. It's funny that, for instance, "Sessegnon was their best player over the past few years, albeit bang average." Now that he no longer plays for Sunderland, "he's a really good player." Some of you are utterly incapable of objectivity when it comes to Sunderland. It's a childishness that extends far beyond football and, from outsiders' perspectives, is wildly pathetic. Sunderland is a nothing team from a nothing city with no history. If you want to be taken seriously by the rest of the country (and, despite pretending not to care, so many of you constantly bemoan the fact that Newcastle is slighted by southerners), stop comparing yourselves to Sunderland and start comparing yourselves to the Liverpools and Manchesters of the football world. Hold yourselves to a higher standard. Dry those eyes man. What a drama queen.
  18. Makes me feel better about having no interest in paying £20 to watch us go through the motions in the early rounds of the league cup against lower league opposition though.

Out thought by Steve Bruce which says it all. Should have been sacked last season but sadly I think we'll have to put up with him and his demoralising half time team talks for a while to come. Seriously he'd be better off letting the players just stop on the pitch with an orange each when the ref blows for half time and leave them to discuss things amongst themselves whilst he keeps as far away as possible.
  20. Elliott was very slow. Great in the tackle and excellent positional sense but his lack of pace stopped him from being a really top left back.

    Sunderland

You would expect so. I know we class them as a category A match. One of the reasons she chucked it was because she said too many none season ticket holders seemed to be getting in cheaper than she was because they kept giving them special deal so she's sitting there quite smug now and I expect she'll be redeeming her voucher. She'll certainly not be paying in to watch them this season.

Free ticket mackems strike again The wife is a Sunderland fan (suppose it's not her fault where she was born) and up until this season had a season ticket for years. She didn't renew for this season and was sent a letter today offering her a free ticket for their home match with Liverpool. I'm hopeless on computers so don't know how to take a photo and put it on here so since i'm not doing much else until the match later i'll type it out; Dear Mrs ********* After a busy summer which has seen a raft of new faces added to the squad, Sunderland's 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season is underway. 44,000 fans turned out for our opening game against Fulham FC, which highlights just how amazing our support is. Everyone here takes great pride in this show of loyalty, there is truly no other club with fans like ours and we can assure you that such loyalty is never taken for granted. The importance of our 'Red and White Army' can never be underestimated - seeing thousands of passionate fans out in force at every match can really give Paolo Di Canio and his players a boost as they take on teams in what is widely recognised as the best league in the world. As a former season card holder, you won't need reminding about the phenomenal atmosphere generated on a match day and we know how much Sunderland means to you. We've seen some major changes in recent months, with 13 new players joining the Black Cats ranks and although you may not have been able to commit to a season card, your support is still hugely important to us. To thank you for your backing, we are pleased to include with this letter a voucher which can be redeemed for a ticket to our game against Liverpool FC on Sunday 29th September 2013. Please complete the voucher and either post it back to the address on the voucher or alternatively bring it, along with this letter, to the Stadium of Light ticket office during normal opening hours, where it will be exchanged for a match ticket. We sincerely hope that this gesture will allow you to once again enjoy the Stadium of Light experience and continue your support for the club. You may wish to also consider our new 15-game season card, which guarantees you a seat for the hotly anticipated Wear-Tyne derby and a further 14 home games, including Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham through to the end of the season - and saves you money too. The 15-game season card is available to purchase from September 14th and this includes every game from Newcastle United through to Swansea City on May 11th. Alternatively, should you wish to purchase match tickets for individual games, please call 0871 911 1973, visit the ticket office or log on to www.safc.com and use our new 'print at home' ticket service. We look forward to welcoming you back. Yours in sport Gary Hutchinson Commercial Director Desperate times already by the looks of it and it begs the question if they do that for one of their biggest games does anyone actually pay money to go and watch these lot?
  23. No way were Bernard and Domi better than Beresford like. Fair enough Enrique probably was although he was hopeless when he first arrived and practically downed tools when he decided he wanted to leave so although i'd accept Enrique being the better player I think we got a lot more out of John Beresford. I said in post #2 on here that Beresford was supposed to be opening the new Wall's End pub on Saturday. Turned out he couldn't make it so mackem fan Steve Howey turned up instead much to most peoples disappointment. On a side note Steve Wraith was there with him and I know he gets a lot of stick but I had a bit crack with him for a good 10 minutes or so (first time i've ever met the bloke) and I have to say what a smashing fella he is.
