  1. Season tickets are still on sale now so I would imagine they just come down a bit more in price after each each game. As Disco has said though you're far better off just picking and choosing and that way if we sell our best player(s) in January and the players and manager just give up on the rest of the season you can simply just stop going as you haven't forked out for all the games in advance.
  2. Totally agree. I know of loads of people who've been going for decades and Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew won't stop them going to support their team. You've got to respect that in the same way that those who still buy the season tickets should respect those that have said enough is enough and don't feel they can financially contribute to this regime any longer. At the end of the day it's a personal decision and there isn't a right or wrong answer.
  3. I can't understand the reaction of most the NUFC fans I've spoken to after yesterday's defeat. People saying it was a really good performance and we were unlucky. From where I was sat it looked to me than Man City were playing in 2nd gear and we still couldn't manage a single shot on target in 90 minutes. Personally I thought we gave them a better game up here last season.
  4. I'm a Newcastle fan so I want us to win every week. The rest takes care of itself.
  5. Usually i'd be quite optimistic with the signings we've made but then I remember who is in charge of developing and coaching these new players and realise that we're just wasting our time. The likes of De Jong especially seems to really have something about him but we all know he'll be nowhere near the player he is now this time next year after Pardew's been let loose on him.
  6. Man City tickets went on sale today and going by the seating plan loads have chucked it, as many as 10k I would say. Another giveaway to poor st sales is that they are selling kids tickets for a fiver for a match against the league champions, something they were doing at the back end of last season.

    Sunderland

They've raised over 6 grand now. Incredible and humbling and i'm not ashamed to say reading that thread on RTG brought a tear to my eye. Goes to show that some things in life are far more important than footballing rivallry. 99% of the lads and lasses who support NUFC and SAFC are thoroughly decent people who share a love for football and their club. Of course we knew this anyway. I remember some of the fantastic gestures that came from them after Sir Bobby Robson died but they've excelled themselves this time as this was just 2 ordinary NUFC fans travelling to watch their team play. All that's left to say is well done to all the Sunderland fans, a credit to your club and to football. I'm sure we would do exactly the same if it were 2 of their supporters but I pray that theory is never put to test.
  8. This is another little clique that has been used to brainwash people. Our ticket prices aren't low. Sure if you've got a bairn and don't mind sitting up in the gods there's a decent deal to be had but does anyone actually know how expensive standard 1 year season tickets are? Gallowgate/Leazes: £578 (£30.42 per game) East Stand/Milburn Paddocks: £710 (£37.36 per game) Leazes End, Sports Bar £724 (£38.10 per game) Milburn, Bar 1892: £819 (£43.10 per game) Milburn, Platinum Club: £924 (£48.63 per game) Season tickets certainly aren't cheap, especially considering the standard of football on display and the average wage of the area. For comparison sunderland season tickets are typically £200 cheaper, ie £370 behind the goals and £500 for a good seat along the side of the pitch.
  9. Love that comment on Facebook when he says he was going to buy a season ticket but he couldn't get the payment over the line
  10. Attendance for the Man City game might be interesting if it's true that so many people have packed in their season tickets. Match will definitely be moved for the telly and no doubt tickets will start at around £40 with it being a category A game which will put a load of people off. We had 43,000 for our opening home game of 2010/11 v Villa and 46,000 for our opening home game of 2011/12 v Arsenal who brought 3,200 fans (both moved for TV). Wouldn't be surprised if it's around the 40k mark against Man City especially if we've lost 6/7k season ticket holders.
  11. We didn't even manage 50k for our first home game of last season man.
  12. They do a flex 15 ticket as well where you can choose any 15 league games to attend for £195 which works out at £13 a game.
  13. Attack one of the cups he said???
  14. One of the things that shines through reading all those quotes about him was how loyal he was to his players, how players wanted to play for him and his philosophy of not worrying about the opposition and letting them worry about us instead. Basically the polar opposite to the fraud we've got in the dugout now.
  15. Good luck to them tomorrow. Would probably have went down to support them but was put off by the ridiculous ticket prices. As far as I can remember I've only ever been to see them play once, against Barnet and Barry Fry was the Barnet manager then so that shows how long ago that was, but if they manage to get into the football league I'll make the effort to go and support them saying how I won't be darkening the doors at SJP in the foreseeable future.
  16. The thing is that unless you've become attached to a specific seat or have to be at Sunderland away (which we'll lose anyway) you don't need a season ticket. It's not like it was from 1993-2000 when a season ticket was really the only way to get into St James' Park now you can pick up tickets on the day of the game more often than not. I'd had my season ticket from 1991 when Ardiles was manager and cancelled it in February last year so this was the first season for 23 years I didn't have it. I've been to 8 home games this season (Chelsea (£34), Norwich (£17.50), West Brom (£5), Arsenal (£34), Man City (£34), Mackems (£45), Man Utd (Free), Swansea (£5)). Works out at £21 a game which isn't bad considering I was at most of the big games and never had to drag my backside up there for midweek games either and it worked out much cheaper per match than if I had renewed my season ticket. Like I said when I log into the ticket office my loyalty points still show up even though i'm just "general sale" now. I go to the matches now when I want to go rather than feeling like I've got to go because i've already paid for it and as things stand i'm not planning on going to any games next season unless there's dramatic changes (even this reported £60m spending spree, not that it will ever happen mind wouldn't tempt me back if Pardew is still in the dugout). My spare money can be spent on other things, instead of being bored out of my skull for 90 minutes up there.
  17. Who told you that? My points are still in my account from when I quit last year when I login online. Same here and I didn't buy a membership either. My profile just says general sale but my 109 loyalty points are still on. Obviously they're no good to me as i'm not allowed to buy away tickets but i'd imagine if Ashley & Pardew both left and I bought another season ticket they would come in quite handy.
  18. Nonsense, what special about that game? Senseless walkout at 69th minute. Couldn't even do it properly I thought it was an embarrassment. The embarrassment was those who either didn't walk out or just sat in their seats until full time and beyond and did absolutely nowt. Fair play to all those who did walk out, those who brought banners in, and those who gave Pardew and Ashely dogs abuse. The spineless followers, ie those who Ashley wants to try and fill the ground with, could do with taking a leaf out of their book and that may help force a change of direction in the way the club is being run more quickly.
  19. They put 7 past us last season. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat that tonight and to be honest I couldn't care less if they did.

    Season Tickets

Didn't see it myself but I've heard a few people say Jeff Stelling mentioned that over 16,000 people had cancelled their NUFC season tickets. Not sure where he gets that figure from but hopefully it's accurate as that would mean only 20k season ticket holders for next season and gates of around 30k or even less if/when we're down the bottom of the league. Not only does Ashley lose £millions but his tatty sports company will be advertised to a backdrop of empty seats which he won't be too keen on as one of the things he has tried to do is keep the ground as full as possible with various ticketing initiatives.
  21. Let's get one thing straight even if we're getting beat 4-0 after half an hour the atmosphere still won't become poisonous. Apathy reigns and the crowd have been beaten into submission.
  22. You shouldn't lose your loyalty points. I chucked my ST last season with 106 loyalty points but when I log onto my account on the online box office my profile now says general sale but the 106 points are still on.
