Newcastle United vs Wolves - 17/09/16 @ 15.00 - Pre Match Thread

I don't think they are to be honest. There'll be a reaction from them to Tuesday night and we'll still be a bit cagey. Be a lot closer than the 2 games on Tuesday were I'm sure. 100% this. Whenever people expect NUFC to dish out a hammering we usually fall flat on our faces. Remember Fulham.and Huddersfield? I'd be more than happy with a scrappy 1-0 win. As if that has anything to do with it man What you gibbering on about? All I said is a lot of the times we expect Newcastle to win they turn in a terrible performance and don't. -

From what I can gather the blunderland echo is heading the same way as Sugar Puffs down in Albania on Wear. Boycott!

Got ripped to shreds on Monday night.

Still can't understand why Townsend didn't give it another season instead of going to a dead end club like Palace. Still, his loss. -
Did he say this before or after Rafa won them the Europa League?
-
Getting better by the game. I expect this to be the case with every player with them being coached by Rafa.
-
He actually speaks better English than Pardew.
-
Totally agree. Wouldn't swap him for Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti, anybody. Perfect fit for us. Just gets everything about the club, thoroughly nice bloke and one of the world's greatest managers as well to boot. Can't believe he's ours!
-
I agree, I think it was really important in the 92/93 promotion that we drew Boro (who were in the PL at the time) in an early round of the League cup and beat them comfortably, I would like to say it was 3-1. This gave us confidence I think in that we were more than good enough. 0-0 at home and won 3-1 in the 2nd leg at Ayresome Park.

Think the hot weather could play a factor tonight. 27 degrees at kick off forecast. Think it'll be a low scoring draw which I wouldn't be too disappointed with. -
Played well in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea. Other than that he was pretty much anonymous last season. He's a player everyone really wants to do well so he certainly isn't a complaint figure as you put it.
-
 It literally has blown up tonight. They'll be absolutely "seething" on there tonight. And I dare bet one or two will be rattled too. Fewmin.
-
When your ticket was free anyway nothing lost by doing a shoot early.

Perverts getting a right pasting here mind. Lovely viewing.

Must win? What happens if you don't?
-
Well said. Mocking those inbred nonce sympathisers is something we've always done and always will.

Excellent idea. Someone sort this! -
so glad these are gone It underlines how good a transfer window we had getting rid of the deadwood on huge salaries regardless of our incomings.
-
The last couple of seasons he wasn't at his best but I still felt he was a good, safe keeper. It must have been difficult playing behind Coloccini and Steven Taylor.
-
This Sels discussion is so absurd. "just waiting for him to make a mistake that´ll cost a goal" applies to every f***ing keeper in the world "not sure on his kicking" seemingly applies to every f***ing goalie around where people are unable to find any other glaring weaknesses If we can get through most of the season without noticing Sels much, while at the same time we keep a lot of clean sheets, I would say he has done pretty f***ing good job. Maybe I didn't word that quite right. What I meant was when we had the likes of Given and Krul in goal my thinking was that the opposition would usually have to score a decent goal to get past them whereas I don't have that confidence in Sels where I'm sort of expecting him to make a mistake because he still looks pretty nervous.
-
Still not really sure what to make of him. He's definitely looked better in the last couple of games but I feel as if I'm just waiting for him to make a mistake that'll cost us a goal. Hopefully all these clean sheets are doing wonders for his confidence.

Definitely worth keeping hold of this season (looks far better than Perez) and upgrade on him in the summer when we're hopefully back in the Premier League. -

Once Huddersfield lose 1 they'll lose 3 or 4 more in a row. Going on adrenaline at the moment.
