Apparently Adam Johnson went by the nickname of Meerkat at Boro because he looks like a meerkat.

Following De Jong's leg-breaking tackle on Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa , the newspaper published pictures of an incident at Manchester City 's Carrington training ground of De Jong making a challenge on Kolo Toure , who then rolls around on the ground pretending to be in pain. De Jong was then pictured jokingly checking Toure wasn't hurt, with a City coach pretending to give him a yellow card. And Manchester City claim the footage and the way it was portrayed further damage De Jong's reputation. Meanwhile, the Dutch Telegraaf newspaper says De Jong, who was left out by Holland after the challenge on Ben Arfa, feels that he was "dropped like a brick" and made a scapegoat after Dutch coach Bert Van Marwijk came under pressure.
  4. It is amazing that when these polls for the most hated players come out his name is never mentioned. What a twat.
  5. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=534154&page=2 There sems to be a lot of mackems that get to work in Shearers house i am sure i have heard similar story to this before.
  6. I think being a fan of this club is good at the minute. We have an honest, humble, hardworking manager who i feel we can be proud of. He has bought some good players, on a limited budget (aswell as Perch). I also think it's possible for us to progress, in the future with some of the lads in the academy and some decent signings from Hughton(if funded by Ashley). Aswell as that we have players who have ability in Ben Arfa, Tiote, Enrique, Carroll, Coloccini. And to top it off i don't think we play bad football.
  7. swap ranger with Xisco and that would be my team to play plus i yhimk that will be Hughtons team

    Winning

Yep, lets carry our good form on to our next two games.
  9. shouldn't that be imbo-in medias bias opinion ?
  10. If he does this consistently we imo will be able to call him world class.
  11. west ham always seem to get soft touch coverage, why grant isnt under media pressure despite being bottom while hughton they say was on the verge of being sacked if colo didnt score last week after an ok start to the season. plus that ridiculous piece with the bellend gold on motd2 couple of weeks ago Don't all London clubs though ?
  12. Is his nickname going to be the "destroyer" i have read it a few times already on this forum.
  13. Blackpool are good, have you seen them play this season. They play decent football, i will admit they don't have star names but they have been underrated, imo and play with great enthusiasm. Thou gh i'm not saying that will carry on but they have been decent.
  14. Has been brilliant again not just defending but at keeping the ball i wonder what his passing stats are.
  15. This is a massive shame, he was a great footballer and (off the drink) a realy nice funny person. The problem is ofcourse he is totally messed up in the head and doesn't seem to have the will power to stop drinking. It seems every few month he is an alcoholic and then he gets clean or goes in to rehab for a few months and then he is back on the drink again. I hope he gets better before something worse happens more so for the publics sake than his own.
  16. I wanted him to play in spain or italy.
  17. Would be very good. Fernandez is a cracking little player. Doubt it's going to happen though. Unfortunately, you are right but can you imagine him and Ben Arfa in the same team that would be amazing.
  18. Could we not get him now if he doesn't have a club ?
  19. This is amazing, though i think man u will be one of the top clubs for a few years yet this could be the start of their eventual slide in to mediocrety if they dont replace Fergie with the right person it could be difficult for them. Can you imagine football in this country where neither man u or Liverpool are one of the top teams, it goes to show that football is based on luck, luck that you get the right owners who can give a manager plenty of money to spend and run the club well and luck that the owner knows what to do when he has to make the tough footballing decisions aswell as the financial ones luck that you have the right manager and luck that he willbring in the right players and luck that they will perform. All any fan can do is hope.
  20. I can't remember exactly what it was word for word but to paraphrase it was something like "White liquid in a bottle has to be milk. what do i mean by that ? We finished 2nd in the league with x amount of points (i couldn't remember) what changed ? the managing director Christian Purslow he wanted to change everything from the manager, the players, the physio's. He came ina nd it changed. So White liquid in a bottle has to be milk".
  21. Rafa has apparently gone off on a rant against Christian Purslow
  22. I think peoploe may be looking too much in to Hughtons weaknesses. Yes he continues to play Nolan and Perch when available and yes we would be better off if he didn't but if you were to look at the most of managers in this league they all have areas which would be considered to be weaknesses and imo would be just as detrimental to their teams as what Hughton weaknesses is to this team. I am sure you will be able to go on any forum and you will find certain weaknesses that fans will be concerned about. Even the top managers. Dont get me wrong i understand why people are worried and ihave the same concerns and considering we are in a relegation battle people are always going to be a little panicky. Imo, we should have expected a rough patch during the season where things go a little wrong though i understand people's concerns about dropping points from the teams around us.
