Deflated when we appointed him as there were many other good managers around but was reluctantly happy it was him rather than John Lip Licking Carver at that time. Willing to give him a chance and with the players we bought in and the 'mediocre' objectives the club gave him, thought he could get near it. It fell apart and he should have had the dignity to walk, if not after the Chelsea massacre, definitely should have at Saturday tea time. He was the victim this week, treated appallingly and disgracefully, yet got paid for it so I think it ended fairly for us the fans ultimately. He got sacked, humilliated and paid. We got a team 2nd from bottom, hope and Rafa. Good luck to the man and do wish him well. Above Pardew and Carver's class by a long way!

Must get Colo out too

Is Mbabu back from injury? If not, can se Lascelles playing LB

No such rules as all AFAIK. Then don't know why some are fearing the Cathro-Beardo combo when Rafa might just sign in time.
-
Is there a deadline for managers to sign contract or else he wouldn't be available to take charge of a team? Similar to player transfers in that to play a Saturday 3.00 pm game, you would have to be registered by noon on the Friday. If there aren't such things, couldn't Benitez like join on Monday morning and still be in the dugout for the night game?

SSN jumped the gun really. They said their sources said McClaren set to be sacked and will not be in charge against Leicester. Now it says 'unlikely' to be in charge. Update at 4. No idea what happened to that supposed meeting between McClaren and Charnley after training since McClaren has gone home. Maybe he was informed already but club to release statement today? His face when he left was liked a man who just lost his job though. A 11.00 pm statement from the club?

What happened to his supposed meeting with Charnley after training today?

SSN dropping the 'Sky sources say Steve McClaren set to be sacked' part from their latest report. Wasn't McClaren supposed to be in a meeting with Charnley after training today?
-
If he is appointed and the players still play like crap, sack the whole lot at the end of the season.
-
Yellow ticker too! Bye bye Steve!
-
Going to be sacked! Not in charge for Leicester match -SSN

So Rafa is trying to get his backroom staff together? Safe to presume he's already agreed to take the job?
-
What was this tweet? It's gone now.

Who are the fucking 11 who voted no? Should make the team called McClaren-lovers man!
-
Ashley really wants that Tv money. Said it all along it depended on how desperate he wanted it. Well, this shows he's extremely desperate!
-
People saying we're going down regardless of Rafa coming in, just need to look at the upcoming games that we have. 3 home games that could swing safety in our favour - mackems, Swansea (who should be safe) and Pardew's Palace. If we could get 3 wins from here, and sneak a point or two from elsewhere, it doesn't look so bleak.

What an absolute attention seeking cunt.

Many people forget that according to David Sullivan (yeah I know), Rafa was 'two hours away' from becoming West Ham's manager in the summer before Real came in for him. Whether it was true or not, I don't know but if it was true, seems to me he was desperate to come back and manage in the Premier League. And he was linked with having an interest to manage us come the summer back in January too. By the way: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3484567/Newcastle-United-poised-appoint-Rafa-Benitez-manager-encouraging-talks-sack-Steve-McClaren.html

BBC updated their earlier article about McClaren 'staying' to add that Rafa is the preffered choice now. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35768923 And apparently, Rafa will get the 'manager' title and can bring his own backroom staff. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3484567/Newcastle-United-poised-appoint-Rafa-Benitez-manager-encouraging-talks-sack-Steve-McClaren.html

McClaren is loving it seeing himself being a victim of the club's incompetence. He's part of the fucking board! Either way, hope the media don't let him off for his disastrous time here. Hopefully, him taking his balls and going home tonight will hasten the club's statement on his position. Club should take advantage and sack him without having to meet the bloke again.
-
McClaren's done well here like. He's played the c***s in charge into a trap. The club were playing all kinds of s*** by trying to get his replacement in and trying to keep McClaren happy. He's turned around and gets angered by it and is now playing the victim card. Media will say how badly the club has treated and disrespected McClaren (which is probably right) and ignoring the poor results McClaren has had which led to him getting the boot.
-
It's a soap opera to be honest. Saturday's episode was about the players, Sunday was the fans reaction, Monday was the possible replacements day, early Tuesday was McClaren, late Tuesday Rafa. Early Wednesday Rafa, end of Wednesday McClaren and Charnley. When is it going to end?
-
Then maybe it's best that the club should release a statement saying he's sacked then since he's already pissed off. Wonder how this 'treatment' of McClaren reflects on the club's image in attracting his potential replacements?
-
To be honest, I don't hate him like I hate that cunt, interview hating Pardew and lip licking Carver. McClaren is a decent bloke, always tries to be positive eventhough it was just absurd at times and didn't slag his players like Pardew does until this past Saturday. It's just that he stepped into the wrong job at the wrong time. Out of his depth and an uninspirational man to lead a club like us. But he needs to go and atleast stay away for good before his reputation gets more worse than it deserves to be.
