Dubs has shown multiple times when he's returned from injury in the past, that he takes 4/5 games to get up to speed, and has been rusty to start with, he's not the sort of keeper you can just throw on and be at it. It was just the fact that usually he'd be replacing Darlow or Elliott so it wasnt really as in your face, I was always confident we'd be fine with him after that first little spell. He's probably the best backup keeper in the league (maybe Ortega?).

One last thing from yesterday, I with Longstaff was way more clinical, he should have had 2/3 last night

Undefeated at home was it? Shame. Cracking, and much needed result that, and more then deserved, we where better in most phases of the game, and it felt like we set up similar to how we did in Howe's survival season, and Howe got it tactically spot on, limiting the space they had to operate in by going man for man in midfield, and countering with really good effect. Then when Bailey came on and they started to turn the screw, by adapting our shape going 3-5-1, and they didn't have a sniff after that. This was no easy feat, Man City and Arsenal went to Villa park and got played off the pitch, so to go there and be so controlled in our performance is really impressive. Hopefully this lightens the mood a bit, and people can stop being so over the top

Really good away performance, breaking well, and defending as a team. Our shape throughout has been spot on. That said they have a goal in them, so if we can get the next one to not make it a nervy end that'd be grand.

Jesus, does every fucker on here need to be on suicide watch? I get we're in poor form, but You'd think we hadn't just had an amazing two years with this same set of players and manager.

Imagine having Barnes and Miggy on the bench
-
That feels like a goal from the 90's.
-
Thats a cracking goal that.

The thing I find quite funny about this whole "Howe doesn't use his subs" thing, is that during the first 12 games of the season, Howe made 4 or more subs in 9 games. 1 Sub = 1 time 3 Subs = 2 times 4 Subs = 2 times 5 Subs = 7 times It's clear Howe just doesn't like to put players on who he can't trust, which is fine
-
That would be cool and all, when we don't have *Checks Notes* Dummet, Ritchie, Parkinson on the bench as options.
-
So you know Pep, the so called best manager in the world right, that has unlimited resources, here are the amount of subs he's made over the last 5 Premier League games: Newcastle - 3 Subs Sheff United - 3 Subs Everton - 2 Subs Crystal Palace - 1 Sub Luton - 3 subs So is he never going to make it to the "Next Level"?
-
You can bet your ass, that if Howe had made subs and we'd conceded a couple, people would be blaming Howe for bringing them on
