Obviously the only player I pick from our game today was the defender that ended up getting sent off.

Fucking destroy them

I thought Barnes both looked pretty good tbh, Barnes put in several good balls into the box, and had that really nice cut back to Gordon in the second half, and Elanga looked really energetic, continually beat his man, the final product was lacking, but it feels like he'll be a quantity over quality player where by the laws of average he'll create and score 15 goals over the season. Stating the obvious but a striker and we win that. Still a point at Villa Park will probably look really good come May. So i'm taking the positives and moving forward.

Frustrating game, as we played so well for the most part, just couldn't find that final ball, or finish. However going into the game, if you offered me a point, it'd have snapped your hands off, Villa Park is one of the toughest grounds to go too, so anything from it (especially given our record there) is a good result. The fact there where a load of positives from it, and we where the better team bar a 10 minute period at the start of the second half, means we can go into Liverpool with a bit of momentum. The fact we failed to score won't change the Isak narrative, but fuck him, and that whole situation.

Apparently Schar is the only Newcastle player to score at Villa Park in past 12 years. We've scored 5 goals, three have been by Schar, and two have been Villa own goals
-
Well we've dominated, limited Villa to literally nothing, and have created some guilt edge chances, we look so sharp. Gordon has actually done well at CF, he's giving them zero time on the ball and buzzing around in a way Isak probably wouldn't, but the chances we've created is where we are missing the traitor. Overall an encouraging start. Villa will likely still win, but there are a bunch of positives from this game.

Its the first ever National League level game to be held in Cornwall tomorrow. (I'm fairly certain Truro are getting trounced)

So very very undeserved, but Liverpool look ropey, and this win feels like it papers some cracks a little.

Honestly this Isak carry on has made me hate Liverpool even more than I previously did, that Bournemouth goal felt proper cathartic. I even scared my cat shouting "Get in" so loud, so even if Liverpool go on to win that was a good moment
-
Liverpool still win this, we all know the script. It'll be the "stuff of Champions" and everyone will ignore the issues they've shown today.
-
Genuinely celebrated that.

Lovely goal that. Bournemouth deserve that too.

Elanga and Gordon next week...

Why are the Sky presenters in the gantry?

So far, Liverpool and all their new toys, don't look all that. They seem way too top heavy, and like they could be exposed defensively quite a bit. They'll also probably spank to odd team 6-0.

That handball is an odd one, as it looks like he touched it, but Ekitike wasn't exactly in a clear goalscoring position, so it'd probably be a yellow card offense, which VAR doesn't intervene with.

If it's not a Newcastle game, I have no idea why you'd ever watch a pre-match show. Especially if the game involves Liverpool or Man United

The logic of "he's won it all so he's not going to push himself" is really flawed, every player wants to push himself to win as many accolades as possible, they get the the level the are at by having an elite drive to succeed, someone at 24 isn't just going to stop having that after one really good season. By that logic, PSG as a team are just going to half ass it all season.

Daniel Farke just stated that DCL has signed for Leeds.

First game of the 21/22 season under Bruce. We lost 4-2.
