When it started to click for him here, I likened him to Bellamy. Now I do again for different reasons. It's not just his red cards that's an issue - it's also moments like looking glum for England at the Euros or having a go at Eddie when he got hauled off in his first season here. Still a child.

Felt like the Arsenal preseason as a game I saw in Singapore - played well, went down towards the end, but saw enough fight and intent from the team to walk away positive about the season. Eddie's gameplan was right for the occasion and like in the cup final, we still have a better midfield than this lot. Just an absolute roadblock that only a jammy goal and a man advantage would undo. Old NUFC would have bent over after their second goal. Instead we had the champions on the ropes. Exactly the kind of defiant performance this narrative needed. Don't think I'd criticize the team for not sitting back at 2-2. Momentum was with us even with 10 men and I don't think it would really be NUFC without getting into them, would it? Criticism for me would just be not starting Osula (i.e. a proper striker) and taking the pressure off Gordon up front. Also our set pieces - hope we're just getting used to our new set piece coach but we look extremely confused and had many opportunities to create chances off that. Hope Osula, Ramsdale and Ramsey get their chance in the next game, and Hall gradually returns. Pray that those who walked off injured are all right. Hope that striker of ours saw how much he's cost the team he's contracted to. But even of he comes around, bench him imo and give Osula the chance he deserves. Onwards and upwards.

One of my favorite games. It wasn't a hiding but we absolutely humiliated them. Remember Gerrard seemingly taking charge over Dalglish after their red card - just never seen them more shambolic. Then of course Carroll down the tunnel with Jose in goal. Tiote being egged on to shoot from halfway and fans chanting "Jose Enrique, we're in the top 5" Just *chef's kiss* . Would love to see it all again.
