  1. Glad we've seen the back of him but it's unfair that he left behind the mess of a summer that everyone had to clean up - Isak, summer transfers, etc
  2. Hah! After that "Liverpool Football Club" goading by Rom we needed to have the last word with a parting shot of our own. Truly reads like Eddie. Love it.
  3. Think I'd go for Jackson at this point if we're up against that ludicrous fee for Wissa. I have faith that our system will create chances for any proven striker and he's got a decent goals per game ratio tbf.

Just saw this Can't help but feel that they're throwing shade at a certain striker with the replies though

they knew what they were doing here - thought it was isak at first
  7. Don't think "playing" would make an accurate title for this

Probably trying to get that "Sign Some 1" lad for a cheeky cameo in the announcement video

Sandro probably sent him to wetherspoon
  10. For me, slightly tainted but I still hold on more to that jaw-dropped feeling of "is this really happening" and remembering all the decades of frustration that led to that point. At least it isn't like he scored a worldie or a hat trick that it would be known as the "Isak final". It's really about us simply being the best team on the day.
  11. Just imagine. Scoring the winning goal to win the club's first trophy in decades, guaranteeing your place in history. Getting CL football. Club offers you its legendary #9 and decides to bring your international colleague to bring the deadly partnership to club level. Twas all setup perfectly for him really to become a legend with just one more year. What a difference a month makes that now he's made Owen look good.
  12. Gyokeres for starters with Elanga, Kulusevski etc out wide. Elite options really
  13. Makes the blood boil but anger will just play to the chaos that they hope to create. Just hope we hold firm - we should have the cards.

Appreciate this if true. At least he didn't play with our desperation like others.
  15. I agree with this sentiment. The honesty and integrity that we feel with Howe, sir Bobby, Hughton, etc just goes a long way.

For Botman it was Milan iirc, who had just been to the semifinals the year prior. Bruno I guess it was loose (but no concrete) links to the cartel six. Whether that's a DoF thing or just the heirarchy (Amanda, etc), we just seemed to be more competent then in enticing those types of players to be part of our project even if we were still in the infancy of our rise.

I like how many narratives in the mainstream have gone from "Rejection United FC" to "smart signing by Newcastle" with this. I fully trust our scouting that we carefully studied every player we go for - including those who went elsewhere. It's just that lack of DoF to sell the project to the Bruno or Botman type of players.
  18. Man I just feel the frustration coursing through him but amidst it all, still a level-headed response that leaves the door open to bury things under the rug and move forward. Hard to find any other manager in the league who will not slip up and say something out of line in this situation.
  19. Like our wingplay but we really need a focal point. Even with Osula I think the balance is better.
