Aye I'd take out Vertonghen, Siem de Jong and probably Eriksen and put in Chivu, Maxwell and van der Vaart. Move Blind back into midfield.

Not really the same thing. He wanted to come to us. Varane is clearly more talented but Jones is already a good player and has tons of potential. Easy to forget Jones is only 22 as well since he has been around in England for a while now. I'm very happy that we have him.

Long term no, but if our current injury trend continues we'll need somebody for the short term, and he's as good as we can hope for. Can't imagine he'll be expensive either. £6m or £7m possibly.

Smalling is a good player like. Idiotic at the weekend but in general he's been playing well when he has had the chance. Can cover RB and CB and is a good player to have for depth. He isn't as good as Jones, Evans or Rojo though. I can't see him having a career as a starting centre back at us.

Rafael, Evans/Jones, Rojo, Shaw is a good young backline IMO. Injuries are ruining us at the minute. We need a top CB and some fullbacks to add a bit of depth. It won't be a big spending spree on the defence though next summer.

As I said before, we could do with him right now. The only available defenders in our entire squad including the reserves have a combined total of 15 apps between them.

Who is available though? If we do sign a CB it'll be someone like Vlaar to help us through the rest of the season. We need to get fourth so we can sign top ones in the summer transfer window.
