Little bit of both to be fair. I didn't think a midfielder was possible this summer. We've either got a fair idea of what we're going to get for Sancho/Antony/Garnacho or else I think there's the possibility Bruno will go to Saudi before June 30th next season.

We've already spoken to Brighton about the deal. We quite obviously have permission to discuss personal terms with the player.

Hope you're looking forward to hating 50% of your fanbase.

Just in shock you're 68 Rod. I wouldn't have put you at a day over 45.
-
Yet another masterstroke by Sir Jim.

Don't leave me Rod.

I've done mega posts on here explaining the debt. That debt is still from the Glazer's leveraged buyout. We have paid a lot interest. It's around a billion in interest, fees etc. Football didn't start yesterday though. Over the last year, you're more successful than us. Over the last 3, as bad as we've been, you're not. Over the last 10-20? Well. Still more success than most though. That's the point isn't it?

Manchester United pull mate. He'll take £150k and thank us for the privilege of playing for this great club.
-
Doubt either of us offered him anywhere near that.
-
Neither Romano nor Ornstein were involved in this, but "point of contention" is enough for me.
-
Only because Sesko turned you down. Would have been DCL for us.
-
We've spent around £200m so far. You've bought Elanga for £55m. You were in for Ekitike for at least £70m, Trafford for £27.5m, £26m for Thiaw etc. All players in different positions. Your spend would be the same as ours if the players didn't go elsewhere.
-
Just going by what's been reported mate. Romano, as annoying as he is, is a better source than Lotus off Newcastle-Online.
-
You've bid on more players than us mate. Decent sources suggest you've offered more money both for fees and wages for the ones we're both in for as well. You'd have spent more than us if the players wanted to go to you. Just the Manchester United pull. Dread it, run from it, it arrives all the same.

Football business in spending money to improve football shocker.

One day closer to the glassing.

Romano might post like crazy, but him and Ornstein are very, very rarely wrong. Ornstein is super respected, and Newcastle fans have only turned him on this summer because everything he's posted about the club has been negative. That's not his fault.
-
No we weren't. As reported by Ornstein and Romano, we were never in for Gyokeres but were offered the chance to bid by "intermediaries" and declined. We were never in for Ekitike. Delap chose Chelsea over us though 100%, and I couldn't be happier about that. He was definitely the #1 option at striker for us this summer. You reckon Arsenal were happy dropping £52m on Madueke but bulked at £13m more for someone 3x as good as him? Mbeumo only wanted United. Simple as that.
-
Well our main problem was goals. So they've went out and signed two of the best players in the league and one of the highest rated young strikers on the continent. Minimal fuss. We took a lot of time with Mbeumo because he only wanted us, so we could afford to hash it out until we were happy. All three of them on decent wages as well, instead of being handed £300k. That's an achievement compared to what we've done in the past. Huge pressure on Amorim now though. We won't accept a mediocre attack with a team that consists of Fernandes, Amad, Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko.
-
INEOS get no credit for this kind of things, but they've put an extremely competent executive structure in place with the likes of Berrada, Wilcox and Vivell. Woodward would have fired £200m at Leipzig for this.
-
I keep seeing this, but your offer was €80m+€5m in add-ons. Ours is €76.5m+€8.5m in easy add-ons. Romano has said it's basically €85m guaranteed. The bids were pretty much the same.
