  1. I was wondering what they practice in training. Every corner has him folding his arms over his body, but every corner seems to be different (and invariably shit today)
  2. If we let him go then we are really shooting ourselves in the foot. I am resigned to someone going in Jan, but out of Colo, Krul and Tiote I think I'd prefer Tiote to be the one to leave, simply for the fact that the other two are irreplaceable in our team at the moment. Surely even Mike Ashley in his tower at the Sports Direct Arena (f*** off with that name) can't be that greedy..... Yeah right. Haha, I went for a drink at halftime and they had "Welcome to the Sports Direct Arena" on the televisions there. Got a few boos
  3. I really enjoyed the film. Far more than I expected to.

  5. I'm not sure I agree with that. We hit the woodwork twice, their keeper made a couple of decent saves and we had a few shots just over. I think it was just one of those games where we could have played all day and not scored. Swansea came with a game plan of us not scoring and it worked for them.
  6. Not the best game in the world, but its not like we didn't create chances - if either of the woodwork chances in the first half went in then we would have scored a few I reckon. Few positives from the game - Santon looked excellent, Obertan was a lot more focussed than in previous games, Ba looked like a man who is on top form and a special mention has to go out to Perch who looked pretty decent today alongside Coloccini. Negatives. Cabaye was very quiet and Jonas ran into too many blind alleys for my liking.
  7. He's doing far, far better than I ever expected him to and I am really warming to him. He makes some odd decisions at times, but then again which manager doesn't? It's a shame the circumstances in which he arrived, but it wasn't his fault - he was obviously offered a shed load of money to come and he'd have been mad to turn it down. Will be a proper test of his management come Jan if we let any of our star players go (and I suspect at least one to go)
  8. Not the best game in any way. Obertan was shit and everything came down the left. Best was probably our most threatening striker - Ba did nowt all game. Still 19 points after 9 games is way more than I expected!
  9. He is excellent in the air. Has a tendency this season to just hoof it up the field though, whereas last season he seemed to be more keen to pass it to a defender. Far better keeper than Harper though.

    Alan Pardew

I'm not really sure how Pardew has become "a target for abuse". Yeah, he's a bit of a gobshite, but he's being let down by those above him. I don't know any fan who blames him for the transfer debacle - everyone knows it was down to MA/DL.
  11. Well I thought they'd recognise at least that we are massively, massively short in that area and at least make an effort. Bendtner has gone on loan to the Mackems for f***s sake You're forgetting that this regime don't give a flying f*** about this club. Surely even Ashley must realise that not buying a striker means we will be lower down the table and lose out on a lot of money (perhaps even relegation if those around us spend well). He's just gambling that we'll do enough to stay up for the minimum investment. Can't see how anyone can stick up for this regime now.

  13. Yeah next window we'll have all our signings through the door in plenty of time and not engage in this stupid and frankly embarrassing behaviour of bidding on players who are having medicals at other clubs.
  14. Can't wait for the excuses tomorrow! Every transfer window I get my hopes up thinking the incompetent twats running out club would have learned their lesson and every window I'm disappointed.
  15. Except for the people we've actually bought, presumably? This. We're getting a left-back and another striker. Chill everyone. I agree. I just don't think it will be an £8m striker and a £6m leftback!
  16. It cant be pretending to buy if we offer money, it would be trying to buy. Hope you are proved wrong like Yeah, but (if indeed this is what is happening) deliberately offering way below market value for players is not trying to buy them - its a pretence that we are a club with ambitions when in fact we are just going to drift along, selling our best players each summer and replacing them with players no one has heard of. There's no risk in putting in a bid you know is going to never be accepted and then you can say in all honesty that you tried to get the player.
  17. Except for the people we've actually bought, presumably? Ok then. Pretending to buy players who will cost decent amounts of money then At least £48m in sales and £7.5m in purchases isn't the sign of a club who want to progress. And I don't buy this "free transfers are expensive" bollocks either. Its interesting how it doesn't seem to work the other way - have Carroll's wages for the x years he had left on his contract been added to the pot? Or Nolan's? Or Routledge's?
  18. His club want £8m? We'll offer 4 and then when it is refused we can at least say "we bid for someone" Pretending to buy people. That's the name of the game these days in Newcastle. (I am of course willing to be proven wrong on this)
  19. Unfortunately, having warmed to him a little bit recently I'd have to revert to my original position of yes. More and more he seems to be treating the club as some kind of high stakes gamble - see how many players I can sell and replace with free transfer and still stay up. I also think at times that he is punishing the fans for turning on him after Keegan left. He (and Llambias) have also shown themselves to be completely incompetent when dealing with transfers - whats the point of putting in a derisory bid for players? If a club doesn't need to sell then they certainly aren't going to for a fraction of what they want.
  20. Sums up the clowns running our club I think.
  21. Daniel Sturridge would have been my first choice. Until I read this: On 12 June 2011, Chelsea slapped a £20 million price tag on Sturridge to put off potential suitors, showing that Sturridge is in their plans From wiki
  22. If I'm honest apart from a few notable exceptions (Schmiechel, Maldini and C Ronaldo) then the rest of the team would be the current Barca team.
  23. Haha, class. Would be great if he did leave thinking Villa were gonna offer him the job and then they didn't.
