  1. Glad you took the advice and skipped that 8th pint ??? As for the delays and the causes is fairly straightforward. Imagine previous seasons when you walked to turnstiles and simply slotted ticket in no trouble regardless of which way it was facing etc. Tooks a few seconds. The new system had people holding phone wrong way and the wrong zone (Top one for physical tickets and bottom for digital) then when getting it wrong their phones had auto locked so they had to unlock and try again. Times all those added 30-60 seconds by 52k and you have your answer. Hopefully next game will be a little smoother after this bigger trial run and also people will turn up at the ground earlier and in fairness the club did tell us too. I turned up 5ish so my usual time to compare and got in around 5:25ish only by fighting through crowds to find a shorter queue position. Many missed the KO though. Heard the Leazes wasn’t too bad but the Gallowgate for me was chaos. Lots of frustration with scanners seemingly being temperamental and forcing people to trust only one out of the two at each turnstile point as word spread when actually it was probably that person not using it correctly. As KO got close pushing and shoving started and you could feel the mood changing. Just make sure you are at the ground 15:30-45 for the Liverpool game. Which in a way is a good thing as I always think people getting in the ground early helps the atmosphere. Might deterred the part time element also.

    Harvey Barnes

Great start to his NUFC career both pre-season and now his official debut for us in the league. Have a feeling in certain games he will be very effective. However I’ll judge him after a full season. Going to be interesting viewing how we are this season against a team that parks the bus. Still not sure Barnes is the answer on those occasions but who knows as he seems to have a history of some good long range shooting.
  3. Bit too much wedding chocolate it seems this summer ? For the benefit of those not in attendance he was never booed so not sure where that came from? A below par performance so prediction of a massive decline? What guff ?
  4. Because the cameras are in a fixed position I’d imagine? ?

    Match Atmosphere

Yeah absolutely. Gallowgate centre also great. I think when commenting on atmosphere it be good to always mention the part of the ground to judge the problem areas. Also when criticising ask yourself did you stand up to try and get any chants going or actually were you just sitting quietly and criticising making no positive contribution to it yourself ?
  6. They relented I believe. Think someone posted this morning tickets available for any category.

    St James' Park

It be good if they could lower the roof on the new stadium so if it was lower attended game it would still keep the atmosphere decent. So in effect changing the capacity to suite.
  8. Yeah but just stand yard to the side almost trodding on his left foot with your own left foot. Defenders don’t stand wide enough and are too face to face with him. I appreciate the danger is him using his pace on the channel you’ve showed him but you’ve got more of a chance then of stepping across him.
  9. Burnley being bonkers again… ?
  10. It’s the season 2023/24 and players still not showing Saka on to his right ?
  11. You’ll be on your 8th pint still… ?
  12. Same system brought to SJP by Silverstone ?

    St James' Park

Personally love the idea of the arena site. The club could run boats down the Tyne carry fans from as far as Shields. Build a dock/fanzone. Entering Newcastle via the Redheugh Bridge by car or train or metro for the home and away fans the view of the ground would look spectacular.

    St James' Park

We will know within 12 months when feasibility study is complete… And my money is on will build a new stadium near current site. Ready for 25/26 earliest but more likely 26/27. Anyone who’s got a problem with that has probably got a good seat/ST so I would pose to them would you rather have a ST in the new ground most likely a equal or better seat or do you want to remain at SJP and relinquish your ST for those who can’t get in regularly currently ? Feel free to bookmark ?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

This basically. Think a versatile defender coming in and that’s the window done. And the obligatory loans out of Fraser, Haydn & Hendrick hopefully.
  16. He’s not that bad. He’s just not our manager and not our club he’s fighting for so will always skew things a bit. He’s admitted in the clip he was wrong. Have more issues with his touch line behaviour personally but again he’s a winner and that behaviour is sometimes the trait of a winner.
  17. I was talking about the new rules. The normal seems to be 69mins. So 6mins of actual football is not a massive increase. Nor does 11mins ?
  18. Him and his reps. Though in fairness I thought the player had made it clear earlier in the week he didn’t fancy Liverpool and wanted Chelsea. Was surprised to wake up to the news that Liverpool had won the race as he seemed to have his heart set on a London club.
  19. Didn’t think it was Gil. Was it not the Deportivo chairman? Used to have negotiate at weird hours of the day if I recall. Like 2am for Luque ? Could be wrong but definitely rings a bell.
  20. He hasn’t had a lot of minutes. Not sure what has went on with Spurs pre-season. Looks like they’ve only played 4 games as opposed to our 7 and Kane & Maddison didn’t feature at all in the 4th game. Maddison 2x45 1x70.
  21. Was stuck with some Villa friends after the game and they said that was the best they’d played in years. First game of the season always hard to predict. Usually at least one daft result on the weekend. I usually think it’s down to who gets their second wind first as usually there is a dip of intensity 55-70mins opening game.
  22. Yeah was at that game too. Although the goal finally came from a deserved penalty they could’ve been out of sight.
  23. Dare I say it like ASM under EH. Grealish has been average overall for Man City. That’s not to say he’s an average player which seems to be what people are struggling to make the distinction between. As @geordie_b said he’s had one poor season (I don’t think anyone can argue that?) and his second season started off slowly but ended very well in the home straight albeit in the Final of the ECL and this years CS the other day he wasn’t anything special again. I don’t disagree he’d probably get into most teams in the league as if you get into Man City’s then it goes without saying. However I do think he’d “look” possibly a better player elsewhere.
