Like I posted earlier we’ve yet to see how good he really is as so far it could be argued he’s a flat track bully. I’d never advocate improving a contract within the first two years personally. The wage structure needs to grow organically the better the team performs and what they achieve. It’s obvious we are greater than the sum of our parts. Similar to The Entertainers team. If we finished 5-7th we will gradually. Only 1-4 would see anything drastic across the board. 5th if it becomes a ECL place. The plan clearly seems to be grow organically which I personally think is wise. People just need to enjoy the football and have a bit of patience.

Double his salary? ? Have you not learned anything this last 12 months what Howe is trying to do with the dressing room?

This. Love Bruno and hopefully only going to get better but let’s see him up against Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd on a regular basis before we start putting him ahead of Rob Lee. Up to now he didn’t get many minutes against Spurs but we were overrun. Liverpool beat us in second gear and although he had moments against Man City twice their midfield have dominated ours twice in reality. Chelsea he had moments but again they were under strength and still had control of the game. He’s only shone against an under strength Arsenal at home when up against the big boys. Benfica was a tough game for him too. I know that might sound harsh but I think some people get carried away a bit too quick with some players and forget how good some of our previous players were. Rob Lee was a winger for the first half of his career don’t forget. Let’s see how good he is against Man Utd’s midfield. Personally think it’s an excellent barometer for the whole team as both sides in decent form.

McTominay banned. Seems a regular these days. Who replaces him?
-
Seemed high up on his chest shoulder. Either way very harsh.

Which is natural to keep your balance as you are landing. Thought it was harsh but there was a Brentford player in earshot of ref which probably swayed the quick decision and once given on field VAR was never going to overturn.

Man Utd are a very good team still even if not as intimidating as in the past and this game will be a great barometer for where we are at. Just hope we turn up and give them a game. Might help us slightly it’s a Sunday 2pm KO at OT.

Great day. Lovely to see the town buzzing before and after the match. Thought Brentford have been the best team up here apart from Man City of course. They started really well and you could tell it was going to be a hard game when Botman lost his first two aerial duels. They deservedly took the lead and although they are the rules personally it’s a goal that should really stand. The key was us scoring immediately after the wake-up call and then forcing the error for a quick fire second. We then had a scrappy last 5mins and did well to make it to HT. Second half Brentford started well again with little to lose and getting I thought a fortunate penalty but again they are the new rules. The key again was responding quickly getting the third and after that Brentford slowly lost a little believe. Just shows how important a bit of the rub of the green is needed in football. Counting the days already for Sunday. Hope we turn up at Old Trafford for once. PS I even made the start of MOTD when team news was given holding the surfers top corner ?

I don’t rate Rice particularly highly. Am I the only one? ?

You missed the bit out when you asked me to come across as mates wanted photos ? Think we need a N-O Takeover anniversary party even if via Zoom ?
-
Not sure if best thread but maybe of slight interest… Very slight possibly ?
-
Yep. As well as we’ve played in many of our games you could really flip and say we’ve only beat these and a 10 man for 82mins promoted Fulham ?

Scholes was a great player but he’s the classic example of a playing being talked about as underrated to such an extent he becomes overrated. He’s never been a class above Gerrard. That’s hyperbole. You could argue one is slightly better at some things than the other but I’d personally have Gerrard overall above Scholes.

£45k of it is Hendrick so no surprises really.

Looks like Sunday morning Kings X trains affected back North so those staying over a night might want to check. I was on the 9:50 to Sunderland as was much cheaper on this occasion than to Newcastle and it’s now departing from York 11:28 to Sunderland ?
-
I appreciate a cost but I go to the same venue on a Wednesday and see 10 comedy acts with compare and full bar and catering staff etc which sells out for £5. With times being hard right now I do think events like these should be kept to a bare minimum. Especially as it’s billed as a thank you for those who’ve donated lots of money. I’d hate to think anyone was taking an appearance fee from this or the tickets were priced with those guests in mind. Generally I wouldn’t say £20 is extortionate but for the target market and theme behind the evening it seems at least £10 too much in these desperate times.
-
£20 ? Why?
