It unsettled our back four and structure as at that time we were used to Pope sweeping quite high which even he doesn’t really do much now. As for just the goals specifically I would agree that the first one probably still beats Pope despite his bigger reach due to the pace off the cross but sadly I still think he saves the second. The point I think we are making wasn’t meant as a dig a Karius. He made a great second half save I recall. The point is we went from Pope to having a Cup Tied Dubravka and rely on our third choice GK for his one and only game for the club in a Cup Final!

Yep when there was a decent fee rumoured then despite leaving us in a tight spot it made sense to go with Pope, Vlac and potentially Trafford. With no fee it makes it a tougher call as Dubravka will want to leave and secure his future and that prevent us from securing a new GK this window. Wonder if such a positive first leg result has swayed the clubs thinking. Remember the second leg is outside the window. Also you can’t blame EH for having PTSD after the events leading up to the last Cup Final so if we were to secure our spot… Can’t see us holding him against his will but I would imagine we’d have to guarantee any potential Cup Final place.

Was impressed with Spurs. Played very well. The bad injury seemed to spur them on. The goal scorer looks a very good at such a young age. I’d heard good thinks about the new GK and he didn’t disappoint also though he’s smaller than I imagined. Similar to the Italian he’s been bought to fight it out with in build.

You are right of course. Though I would say I’d only pay £3 or less for an occasional pint. £5 for the cinema and £1 for a coffee by shopping around. Its an item that lets be honest possibly have more money than sense like most official football related gear You pays your money and you takes your choice…

Rather go for Trafford TBH even if I did suggest Kelleher a little while back before he played against us. Wasn’t as impressed albeit just the one game. Think Trafford under EH and our defence would be a great fit and would prefer not to give Liverpool the amount of money they’d demand for him.

There’s really nothing that deep in those comments. We all know EH says he wants to keep every player. Don’t see how anyone could think there is a rift unless of course they aren’t very bright. In an “ideal” world we would want to keep him. Don’t think you’ll find many arguing otherwise with Pope being injured and Dubs showing his worth. However I think you’ll struggle to find anyone who thinks Dubs is our medium to long term answer to our GK position. EH will have been in game mode all day minimum so wouldn’t have likely been getting any updates about a player he’s selected to play and motivate that night. He’ll speak to PM and hear what the strategy is with regards latest off for him and how long in the window do we have before we’d need to sell him to get that deal and what we’ve got to gain from selling him later in the window as opposed to letting him run his contract out or even renew it. He’ll also want to show some respect to the player if likely it’s his last game and let him bask in a little love that he received at the end. Hardly going to say we’ve done a deal to let him go or get into specifics as if we’ve move on in a somewhat cold fashion. Until the deal is complete EH will do everything for a player to feel loved and wanted. Thats what makes him so good.
