Hate this format. Far too many games and less jeopardy. Might as well just have a Super League that they want and just allow champions in it to play each other H&A. Have a small 4 team group tournament that then turns into a KO halfway (similar to previous UCL) for Europa Cup and bring back the European Cup Winners Cup for all Cup winners and have that as an instant Cup KO tournament. None of this is rocket science.

You stop it by creating the fear you might not get in. If the market dries up so does the touting. I think we all know and agree it’s a massive ball ache and effort to get yourself a ticket when going on sale a week or two beforehand. The club will do also. So I’d always ask why after all that effort would you decide not to go to game. Whatever system you are asking for can be used by the touts. Hence why ST holder touts has increased as an official system has been put in place with a 10 game cap that I believe isn’t being robustly enforced. There will never be a perfect solution to ticketing. Ultimately the club are giving you the pass to do it by sending the tickets on individual emails easy to forward whilst by all accounts not checking at any of the turnstiles. And around we go again…

But what’s to stop the two people making an extra payment to each other over and above?

I meant for playing in the first team to win the league as opposed to generate income for player purchases which I appreciate from that angle. Their two title winning teams have been well assembled but rarely depended on many academy prospects coming through. I’d argue they buy/sell that well they would be where they are without an academy. I’ve mentioned a few times on here over the last 4 years that we seem to be taking the Liverpool approach but on a smaller budget overall. Whereas Villa have went for the more transient approach.

Depends on PSR rules going forward but if no change there then… Patience. We are going in the right direction. Keep faith in Howe at ALL times. Smarter fanbase. When our competitors come knocking for our players don’t fall into every trap set where club is left with a situation that selling their best players to a competitor is seen as the only choice available. Yeah academy and multi club stuff no bad thing but not vital. Don’t think Liverpool got there with either? Just smart recruitment and a great manager and a bit of luck. The unwritten stuff is the draw of being able to pull players our way all thinks being equal and that’s why we should have one if not the biggest stadium in the country to highlight we are not a stepping stone club. Surely A IS the top bar? Never understand how so many of you struggle with some of your favourite players as good as they being classed as B. Still means they are very good players. Id say the majority would be T2-3 currently. Feel like there’s been a drop off of T1 players recently.

To a degree a combination of that and the main thought process was to help linesman make offside calls by only needing to cover 20/25 yards of the pitch maximum. In fairness to them they got 98% right before VAR was brought in covering 50 yards.

Yes but the amount of times they have to scrutinise a decision is at the opposite end of the spectrum. You’ll definitely see a reduction in the need for VAR to draw lines. They’ll see majority with their own eyes. Id bin it and just take your chances with a ref and 2 linesman with regards to VAR. As for offsides my alternative is split pitch into 4 quarters and you can’t be offside in middle two. All for daylight though and see how it goes.

Yes but moving the line means if mistake or guess is made it’s easier to swallow knowing 99% of the player was ahead of the defender. As opposed to them guessing at times with 1% of the attacker supposedly ahead of play. I say supposedly because currently it’s hard to define which part of the body they are looking for and when they tell you and you look at it there’s still a lot of doubt and frustration. This looks like an all or nothing call. Another benefit is they won’t need to draw the lines 99 out of a 100 as will be obvious to naked eye so goal celebrations will be more confident and decisions/reviews quicker. Everyone assumes the defenders will sit deeper and maybe they will but a lot of the frustrating goals are ruled out from crosses and set pieces so that’s unrelated to defenders starting position as they’ll not want to keep boxing in their own GK. Also if one defence sits deeper then people forget the other will. That will uncompress the game and allow more room for midfielders and 10’s along with more opportunities to shoot long range. Let’s give it a try and find out as presently the current offside is an absolutely abomination and I’d seriously question anyone who is happy with it their love of the beautiful game.
