Now now… and I still await my answer?

The debate was over the most sensible decision. Not the best emotional one. Football is emotional and those attached closely to the club. The ground isn’t ultimately. It’s part of it’s history like the players and managers and owners of course but it’s nothing like what it was in 1983 when I started going and I’m sure prior 1983 and my attendance it wasn’t anything like what it was either. Doesn’t stop me feeling emotional about my club just because the ground has evolved. The current seat next to mine has my late dad’s name still on it even though he’s no longer with us to occupy it. That will go I know. Arguing you can’t form new emotions in a new stadium I find ridiculous. Think about the people who can’t get in. Think of the emotions being able to go will create or the emotions of the parents who would have more chance to take their children etc. I get emotions. I wouldn’t have fought so hard for a change of ownership if the club was merely transactional to me. I personally didn’t fight so hard for the takeover to still get left behind. I’ve still got the “We don’t demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries” banner in my outhouse and stand by every word of it. Those that know me will know I encourage people with strong views regardless what they are to voice them to the official channels if it really means that much to them. We are talking about sense though. Which I see is different and usually when you act sensibly you take the sensible decision not the emotional one. That was my point. That and I think the club is trying for us. Which is what I demanded. Anyway… what will be will be. I’ll leave you all to debate it until an official announcement is made. I think I said that last week but sticking to it this time unless I get called names of course

That emotions not sense surely?

Guessing a combination of fear of the nimbies and fans voicing their opinions they don’t want to walk a few hundred yards further and maybe less red tape I’d imagine. I’m surprised by it TBH. Predicted it to be close to Leazes areas but not that close. They say it will be higher. Wonder if the lower tier would be below ground level.

Tell me what you would like which you think is more sensible?

I’ve not said you can’t have opposing views? This option isn’t even the one I want But having listened to a broad range of feedback on here and elsewhere I honestly think the club have made the most sensible decision if indeed this is the one. Its as close to the current site you could ask for so much so it overlaps so no change to anyone’s match day routines. Its 20% approximately bigger so hopefully that will allow future generations into the ground more regularly at a lower price point than an expansion would and on the flip side put to rest fears from some we couldn’t fill 75/80/85k regularly. It allows the club flexibility for their corporate adventures which will all help to keep the ticket prices lower than they would with less corporate opportunities. It also gives the chance to reconfigure the fans who want to be together and offer better acoustics hopefully leading to a better atmosphere. Hopefully it will attract people to visit our lovely city with other sporting and music events which is great for the City. Finally it would hopefully give us a couple of scoreboards for the VAR decisions for everyone to be able to view. I’m not sure there’s a box they haven’t ticked with those plans in that report. That encompasses everyone’s views. So I’ll repeat I’m glad the club has seen sense and I hope the fans do to. I’ll also repeat it’s not the option I would’ve went for but overall I’m happy to accept it. Not sure how it came across obnoxious? I certainly didn’t mean to 👍🏻

I’m surprised they are thinking of overlapping the stadiums. If however they think it’s the only option that will tick the locality box and face minimum opposition then fare enough but can’t help feel they are having to make the project less ambitious. Anyway like you say it might not even happen as shown.

I’m not being an arse. Just shake my head at people moaning about the shape of it of all the things to consider! Big change in location, worse views and acoustics or locking out future generations and effect on the City in general etc I’m all for a debate. All the things that matter to the match going fan and those who spend their time in the city that would be effected, particularly a regular one should totally be on the table. If I was being an arse I’d say why do you care what shape it is when you don’t go to the games even when offered tickets. That would be being an arse. But I didn’t So… Whats the problem with the stadium being a bowl shape? That was my question.

Doubt they will. If we go from 53k to 70k I reckon it be split around 7K corporate and 10K membership or vice versa.

Obviously if injured then yes. You’d of thought Longstaff due to the size of the occasion but Miley has been getting ahead of him slightly of late.

The main decision is the centre halves. The rest of the team as we all know picks itself.

Initially I think they thought it be a little toothless and involve fines. Then when it showed its teeth I think that’s when reality set in but we’d already spent big first 3 windows and tried to rebalance without losing any purples. We’ll be back on track with plan b this summer.

That’s a reference point for Spurs. We announced 1000 STs with a strange criteria clearly and I dare understandably due to circumstances but then did the same with the Final tickets last time. Just find it strange they’d cut off a revenue stream amidst selling players left right and centre. Just my hunch anyway 👍🏻
