Was disappointing to watch the fast break fall apart by leaving the ball behind I have to admit. The ball should’ve been 10 yards in front of him and heading straight towards goal. Its great we’ve 2 good options either wing with different styles but it seems to of cost all of them their rhythm and form with only Murphy showing anything like a piece of a jigsaw that fits.

Went to Independiente for their local derby against Racing (their stadium is literally across the road!) in a playoff game to who got into the Copa Libertadores. Great experience and all I would say is in my experience Argentina is a much better place to watch football than Brazil. Felt the crowds were on a different level when I went to watch Flamengo at the new Maracana. Recommend the stadium tours for Boca and River if you can’t catch a game which unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to due to fixtures/time of year.

In fairness he was excellent all game and it was VAR who made him eventually crumble and make the error for the pen. Prior to that thought he was good TBH.

Was thinking more his appearances for the 1st team pre season. Looked to have something about him different to what we have currently.

They’ve been quiet pre match for this game. Guessing nothing super sized planned.

Looked our best winger pre-season when actually on the pitch which I know counts for little. Only one way to make a definite assessment with level of opposition and team mates etc. Id imagine a lot of it comes from watching our current selection misfiring Murphy apart.

I agree. Been impressed with what I’ve seen of him. Can’t hurt to chuck him on for 20mins. Crowd seem to lift his game also which isn’t always the case with some wingers.

Thought we played ok. Brighton are a good team and definitely our Cryptonite. Said in the pre match thread I thought we’d rotate the midfield and Gordon and Elanga due to the heavy travelling and activity. No surprise we looked sharper with the more rested legs. Beat Fulham and we’ve 3 points to make up elsewhere to get back to 24/25.
