Yes but that just spoils another team’s season along with their fans. A squad should be locked before season starts then you manage it. Then judge yourself at end of season. If you get 4 GK injuries you play your 5th or outfield player who fancies himself as one. You don’t go plundering other teams first choice GKs. If you sack a manager you can’t replace him with an employed one during the season would be another change I’d make.

I think this is the only debate. The margin of improvement he’d be to the side. Knowing Brentford have lost Toney and his replacement still out injured (I think?) and Wissa recently injured and notoriously good sellers you’ve got to ask yourself is there bigger upgrades for less money elsewhere.

This. Im a fan of Mbuemo and could see the logic and how his style would fit along with his work ethos. Then I started to think would we really of advanced the position that much for such a huge fee. It would’ve took a lot of money to improve the RW marginally with Mbuemo rather than what would feel like a giant leap when we tried at least to tempt Olise for what would’ve been a similar fee. So without turning my nose up at him I definitely changed my thinking on him. Especially when our budget is so tight.

Don’t have to say anything on my behalf. We are who we have always been. A good team but not a great one. When that’s the case you can’t take too many chances against an opposition playing THEIR biggest game of the season with absolutely nothing to lose. Having neither Bruno or Gordon on the bench would be very dangerous. Hopefully for me they are and even have a funny feeling AG starts. Not sure why you’d want them nowhere the game personally. This is a massive game for us in front of a sell out crowd.

It’s to stop big clubs unsettling players every week causing absolute chaos ahead of certain fixture. Liverpool could go in for AG weeks leading up to playing us then just sack it off for example. It’s not about enjoyment it’s just how different some of us see the game. If you did that at the Lockwood Cup you’d be laughed at If a forward decides to knock the ball around a GK to score they’ve at least got to head in the direction of the ball to make an attempt to score. It was an art form in the 60’s (Greaves) onwards but sometime in the 00’/10s onwards it slowly become acceptable to run in to the GK’s arms or dangle your legs for contact and just throw your self to the ground. Pleased we got it as had no confidence in AG one on one. Had every confidence in him taking the penalty.

Agreed. For the record the Jota one is more of a penalty than today’s. As much as I hate admitting it. Jota never a penalty personally but GK guilty of the slightest of contact towards him. Today it was all on AG initiating everything.

You said I’d been on the drink all day ‎ Why? Because he wasn’t going to score. He wasn’t caught by the GK. AG manipulates any contact and even then does a poor job of it because it’s minimal at best. Never understand why it’s so hard for some fans to have an honest opinion when it means it’s not in our favour. Pleased as punch we got it and converted it. However if I was sat in the pub with a Man City fan I’d be telling him it’s a very soft penalty. Would hate it given against us.

Not pissed at all and more importantly not bias. It’s never a penalty. If you’ve ever played the game at any basic level that’s never a foul. You are either clueless or bias. Maybe bigger shouts elsewhere but certainly not that one.
