  1. Not saying we will just saying the reasons why we don't need to go mad. Agree we don't need to go mad... Always feel 3 players is normally a safe limit for integration and to evolve the team... That's why the club messed up last summer... Instead of 3+3 in the two windows we went 1+5...

    Other clubs' transfers

Exactly, the characters are funny in their own way, but the writing is what makes it what it is. So well observed. Curb Your Enthusiasm is where it's at...
  3. That makes sense if you ignore the fact we only bought one first teamer in the summer (Anita)...

    Alan Pardew

I would've let you quote me if you had wanted...

    Alan Pardew

It's interesting him coming out and naming the players he wants (Remy & Bent)... Sounds like a first move of a game of chess between him and JFK... Ball in JFK's court to deliver as AP takes a back seat... He certainly began manoeuvre to corner him (JFK) in his first interview...

    Season Tickets

Not what the box office told me the day after JKF was confirmed... Lady was sympathetic and even confirmed it with the manager I could do this... No guarantees of a mini season ticket been made available...
  10. Despite the fact its pretty obvious he and Cisse don't work? Great player but if the partnership didn't work well before why all of a sudden would it work now? So you'd honestly at this stage turn down Demba Ba? Yup. He's history. /copyright Ozzy I never want our former players back again. When they're gone, they're gone. I'd agree by and large but it depends on the circumstances... Beardsley yes... Ba no...

    Loïc Remy

exactly the reason why QPR shouldn't loan... Makes no sense when they can get a transfer fee... My suggestion for QPR to loan Rémy out was based on the idea that they'd struggle to find a buyer for a player who has been accused of rape. If they can find a buyer then "buyer beware". I understand and appreciate your sentiment... But this is football we are talking about...

    Season Tickets

Correct but you'd still have to tell NUFC that you wanted to cancel your season ticket. Just cancelling the direct debit would have NUFC chasing you for the money. People can cancel their season tickets now but they will lose the money they've already paid. On the plus side the money you've paid so far (guessing around 5x£43) you can put towards a mini season ticket if they release one like they have done the last two seasons... Normally last 6 home games...

    James Perch

@KHeneage: William Vainqueur will not be coming to #NUFC. He has signed a new deal at Standard Liege. @d_demyttenaere with the details.
  16. 26 caps in 8+ years for Hansen... Bit surprising...
  17. Rene Meulensteen for first team coach?... Just been let go at Manchester United...

    Other clubs' transfers

Going to the Velodrome to see them in August Lovely ground, Marseille is a bit hit and miss though, will walk down one street and it's fantastic, turn the corner and you're in the hood Lot of dodgy flats around the ground too so keep your wits about you This... Heard it from a few mates so pre-warned my friend who was there for 2 days at the start of this week... She's just been in touch to say i see what you meant... Be careful... Especially on match day!
  19. Disagree with the first statement nearly as much as I disagree about Brazils strikers being better than Germany and Spain's. Fabregas has become very underrated recently too. I'm going to be honest, I only made the first statement as a conversation starter for the rest of you to discuss to my enjoyment. I'm weak at the knees for big, physical midfielders, I know. It can't be helped at this point. I think Javi Martinez is a more complete player in a vacuum (outside of the Barca-created midfield of Spain) than Busquets and can slide into the same role without much fuss at all. Fabregas played a very different role in England in Mata, but I still think what the little boy at Chelsea accomplished the past two seasons is above anything Fab did, even at the height of his powers. He hasn't shown that form for three years anyway. I'd echo the sentiment of wanting to see him back in central midfielders. He's not a striker, #10, or a winger despite where he's been playing. Javi Martinez always strikes me as very one paced... Thought he was massively overpriced... Hard to argue against the season he's had though...
  20. Not a fan of Gignac... Or Cognac...
  21. Did the much talked about "big sponsorship" deal or whatever it was actually get announced?... Biggest in the clubs history or something?...
  22. I dare say no one wins really... So common ground has to be found... It's currently based on a number of factors along the lines of how well the club is doing... Method in his madness!?...
  23. For 5 years? Yep... I think the combination of the first season expenditure on players and compensation opened his eyes to footballs true cost and the lack of due diligence with regards to the debt etc... As I'm a Freeman of Newcastle I can personally confirm he didn't realise he didn't own the land the ground is built on and that he had to pay us rent... Definitely got his fingers burnt badly... I thought the lease was free as long as the land was used for football?? Nope he pays us £x00,000 a year... It's up for renegotiation this year I believe so we will be looking to increase it... Last time the club made a big cock up with the deal which would've cost them a small fortune if it wasn't for the Freeman agreeing to seeing it as an admin error of sorts...
