Hutchinson was never realistic in terms of his journey last season and he’d be a gamble and end up no better than what we can play there now. Is he really a game changer? Are either of them? Are you losing sleep over missing out on them? I agree we did have that approach but that approach sadly left us with a £50-70m last day PSR black hole and it’s now not the approach going forward as we’ve filled many spots. To be clear is QUALITY over QUANTITY from here on out and this window we are looking at RW. RCB. and potentially a young forward adaptable in positions but strongest centrally. GK could be debated I dare say but I’d say very doubtful this window or even next.

Tosin we went after first and he turned us down! So nothing to do with our approach. We court him for months and invited him to the club for a game and if (rumours) true we possibly even offered higher wages than Chelsea. We don’t seem to be in the market for a midfielder and it was noted when we were linked to Onana most on here whinged they didn’t want him and were glad the links stopped as soon as Joelinton re-signed. So that leaves us with Kilman. Who moved in a deal so dodgy that both the buying and selling club went to poor old Maidenhead to tell them the deal wouldn’t go through unless they halved their sell on fee they were legally obliged to pay. The fact we are being linked to CBs might suggest we’ve got our eyes on better. Regardless I’ll sleep fine tonight knowing we’ve missed out on those three as apart from potentially Tosin none would improve us and like I’ve said. The club did everything they could to get him but he was never going to turn Chelsea down. He doesn’t have to move and already was friends with players there when in the Man City academy.

By using your brain and a bit of assumption… So for example £70m max fee. £190kpw wages would be our marquee signing and the budget would allow for two of those. Or maybe three players at £30-50m on £90-120kpw. Irrelevant really as I’m asking you all to name a player we’ve missed out on that would’ve happily joined us if we had jumped in first?

That impact was always going to be as soon as the club announced they were splitting the cake into an extra slice. I think (hopefully) that more people will be happy as in theory at both stages you can pick where you sit availability allowing.

For those who whinge about our lack of activity and speed in the transfer market. Please give me a list of realistic players who would come to the club (ambition/fee size/wage amount considered) that have went to another club already in this window that you wanted?

All depends how safe the club plays it. I’m still of the opinion phase 1&2 will be split 50/50. Therefore 7k ballot winners choosing from 14k seats. No chance no one can sit in their group sizes at that ratio surely. Don’t forget the club system chooses who is successful. Probably have an algorithm to allow so many of each group size being successful. So the bigger the group the less chance of success.

Just added a bit to my original point but if they’ve thought it through (like I have) logically then it should be fine. So (approx figures) if 14k the regular tickets on sale per game they will just sell 10k in ballot and 4K in first come first served but the 10k will have the choice of 14k seats. Not 10k. 4K leftover will be then filled by those queuing two days later. We’ll find out how it goes. Groups of six will have to be quick off the draw possibly but even if not should be fairly safe sat as a six. Or compromise and find two better lots of three etc.

Not really. They would’ve had to of ran with this behind close doors to fit different groups in during ballot last year. The price of offering choice of seat instead of letting the club choose will be fairly minute if any. Think the biggest difference will be the quality of the seats available in phase two as you’d think phase one will pick the best whereas previous year the club was probably more even handed so not to be releasing just the lesser view seats. If you recall you had people still trying to buy seats on resale knowing they could choose their (better) seat then try and sell the seats they’d won in the ballots to friends who’d missed out desperate to get in. This new system should in theory clear all that up.

My guess it won’t be a problem because they will have MORE seats available to choose from than SOLD so plenty of choice. They will then fill the sections up with phase two first come first serve buyers.

It won’t work perfectly but I’d imagine like previous years it will encourage you if single to choose end of row and not leave single seats on end of row. Not technically to sit together. Just ability to choose your seats from those available. The lead name of the booking (of the joint application) can choose all the seats for those successful.

STs per game work out £39 (North/South) & £47 (East/West) for comparable prices which like you say will be £47 & £ (TBC) So minimum £8 per game more for members.

I paid £727 for 24-25 which is one of the lowest price bands. Since the new owners came in the price jump each season has been around £70-80 each time iirc. Whilst removing membership from them so unable to have option to buy one also. I’m guessing the £47 gets you into all four stands. ST prices definitely higher for East & West stands at £885-1163.

Barnes signing just seemed opportunist but still part of a plan. EH having in mind to do Plan A then more Plan A with fresher legs after 60+mins. Over a full season Gordon and Barnes should end up with fairly similar minutes on the LW over three competitions. The RW that EH wants clearly hasn’t been available yet. Let’s see if they are this summer.
