With their main competition being Chelsea as he’s £20+m cheaper for them to buy which makes him quite inexpensive despite being into his last year. Id be surprised if we get him. Unless it’s a great fee and other interest isn’t there but at our range you’d expect Spurs to be interested with Romero wanting to leave.

They probably thought the £45-50m offered minus Chelsea £20+m wasn’t worth losing him two years early and would rather have his services. Their cup win probably justified that decision.

How can you stop a player running his contract down?

We’d of made the KOs if we had more than 13 fit players even. Although we were robbed in Paris it’s easy to forget we had 4 points from first two games. Starting going wrong for us when Isak got injured early against Dortmund at home (I think?)

Always thought he had great fundamentals of the game as a player. Only his physical limitations stopped him from being a truly great player but he was a very intelligent one all the same. Has experience with son coming through youth setups and has nurtured him very well. Also got some managerial and coaching experience already home and abroad. Overall a very well rounded candidate. You don’t agree I take it?
