    James Trafford

    3inchs taller than Pope apparently.

Highlights (obviously I suppose) he looks very good. Remember that save from Anderson as had goal written all over it. Seems a very smart signing if the fee is indeed £15-20m and low-average weekly wage. Any hint on his current salary?

    James Trafford

Always a bit wary of transfer stories breaking Saturday morning. Not seen enough of him to judge ability but going for him would suggest Pope starts No.1 this season.

Disagree. They finished above us. In Europe. Friends with a few key team mates. Has worked with the new manager already.

The more the details seep out the clearer it is we had very little chance of signing this lad. The move makes perfect sense for him on many levels.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Exactly. We might of chosen Tonali over him depending on the timing of the discussions and back ourselves to develope Miley who probably surprised a few with his development.
  9. Nah that wouldn’t be great for football. Allowing us and everyone else in the same division to spend as much as the the team with the biggest limit however is all the rules have to be.
  10. Would imagine it depends on the opposition.
  11. One that goes completely against their current mission statement and strategic planning. Don’t see it myself.
  12. Why do people keep saying Aramco would be a PIF choice of major sponsor? Surely they’d be the very last option
  13. Anyone heard any rumours about us playing Hull City pre-season?
  14. Should we concerned about his fitness record? 😬
  15. With his wages I’d imagine it even have to be a free or nominal fee.

    Anthony Gordon

    Confirmed not playing tomorrow.
  17. Just said to my friend that’s the kinda of moments that come back to bite you. Instead of a counter attack for Dortmund ended up another corner for Real… Boom!
  18. Off topic slightly but strange date to of picked for the 5v5 boxing. Especially as both with TNT. A week later surely would’ve made more sense 🤷🏼‍♂️
  19. Jude has been very average in the UCL since the first leg against Man City.
  20. Was my first thought as irrelevant as it probably is to this guy
  21. That’s how it’s done. Mark of the man TBH and also an encouraging sign the kind of environment the new owners are cultivating. Good luck for the future…

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

My thoughts have really swung on Mbuemo recently. From thinking an upgrade/ideal fit/swap for Almiron to like others have said maybe not actually that big a step forward and maybe too much more of the same. Would love some more footballing brains in that position and the team as a whole. Would a MGW be able to squeeze in our team in that spot and still bring the best out of him and us? Or would he be wasted and better of looking elsewhere. Not sure how feasible but really like the look of Dani Olmo or a player of his ilk.
  23. Newcastle Specific Player of the Season: Bruno. Feel like he’s held the team together at times and as good as Gordon has been we can’t seem to do without Bruno on the pitch unlike Gordon. Young player of the season (21 or lower): Tino in terms of ability beyond his years shown when he plays with a honourable mention for Miley for his potential ability already shown under difficult circumstances. Season to forget: Tonali the obvious one and Targett the less obvious one due to misfortune of random injuries at times which mich might of got him more regular game time. Most Improved: Gordon as I expected. Felt the signs were already their his first six month but just wasn’t getting the rub of the green. Unsung Hero: Schar in some respects as his levels throughout the season probably not spoken about highly enough. Burn also. Few moments aside his LB performances were exaggerated in their criticism and when he reverted to his natural CH position he commanded a very inexperienced and rotating back line very well. Signing of the Season: Tino down to his contribution not only this season but hopefully for many years in the future. Goal of the season: Going to give it to Barnes 2nd v West Ham… Moment of the season: …because I can put Schar’s PSG goal in here Low point of the season: Liverpool (H) made me feel the sickest closely followed by Trippiers misplace header against Chelsea in the Cup. Was at PSG and annoying as it was I felt more for the players than myself that night. Manager rating (Out of 10): 9… Think he will of learnt a lot (as I hope the players have also) from this season. Represents everything I want in my manager. Think he’s a perfect fit for us/and us for him. Hope he’s the one to lead us to our next long awaited trophy over the next decade. Premier League Specific Player of the Season: Odegaard. Would love him in our side. Such a lovely player to watch and offers a bit of everything as a modern midfielder. Young player of the season (21 or lower): Cole Palmer. Not sure I like him but admire his impact at Chelsea which spoilt our fairytale end to our own season full of bad luck. Impressive to back himself to leave Man City too. Manager of the Season: Emery I think pound for pound just about deserves it and have a bit of a soft spot for him also so that seals it. Season to forget: Rashford must be privately looking at what’s went wrong this last season for even Southgate to cut him. Definitely lost his way 23/24.
