Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
Hanshithispantz replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
Was pointed out during his medical but he doesn't look particularly strong like. -
I mean he would have to move if we go 3 at the back as it's a completely different formation. Anyway we've been playing Shelvey infront of the back 4 which seems daft to me, Joelinton offers much more protection and is far better on the ball. If we brought a CDM in then they would probably slot in there though, but the more I think of it and the more I see Joelinton the more I feel we really need creativity in the middle more than someone to break up play.
-
Also this 'Startup' app is sexy as fuck. Not sure how Fraser would be tucking in but he cannot be worse than Shelvey. I know that is team is fucking terrible
-
Going 3 at the back seems obvious but like @TRon mentioned I'm not sure Howe is interested for some reason. We need like 4-5 players to walk into the side really but I do think an attacking fullback and an ungodly centre mid would be enough to atleast get us functioning.
-
Wonder if it's worth fucking Shelvey or Longstaff out of the side and playing this little cunt on the right side of a midfield 3? Obviously the other one needs replacing by a new midfielder.

Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

Very athletic and some decent players on the ball. Not sure why they're not clicking but if they do they could easily pick points up like. I know Man Utd are shite but Watford looked insane against them in patches before falling to pieces in the games following it. -
"Shelvey/Longstaff or Anita/Colback? Can’t believe I’m even saying it but Anita/Colback. At least they could run?" When life comes full circle.

Eh? I remember it being seen as an underwhelming signing until his debut against West Ham when he was insane. Never played like that since. I don't even think he was starting for them when they sold him?

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

I kna, like if he undersrand how triangles work he'll realise that he can bypass the 3 players infront of him and try his step overs against their CB -

Surely he can be coached though? He doesn't even need to improve his ability or out, just literally pass the ball more -
If I find out Mitro could be bought for less than £25m I'll probably keel owa.

Baffled how anyone can watch him today and think his goal covers for his downsides like. Loads of players score goals whilst also maintaining possession to an acceptable Premiership standard during the rest of the game. Like he's been like this for ages but the first half today he took it to a whole new level. He plays like he's on the school yard, great for the highlight reel but not what any manager actually wants. He needs to learn how to one touch pass, and to know when to take the ball on himself and when to find a teammate in space. He's more than welcome to bring his bag of tricks out when he's one on one with a full back, or if we're on the counter and he's running at their defence etc. -

Aye @ManDoon sort of pointed that out during the game like. We have a big bean pole upfront but were rarely trying to find him from deep. -
Aye like that's the point imo. It's not like I'm unappreciative or owt, it's just annoying looking in from the outside being powerless when the solutions seem so obvious.
-
Do you not think the richest owners on the planet could conclvince a player that signing for their club is a good idea like? Either we're not trying or we're not selling ourselves properly. I mean Emery obviously knocked us back for a reason.
-
Not so much that I wish we'd went for Gerrard, but as soon as Courtinho's agent was trying to find him a club we should have went all out for him. Same with Lucas Digne. I refuse to beliieve that Steven Gerrard and Villa's position in the table are the only reasons they've signed them like.
-
Do people understand now why we needed to properly build a squad this window capable of playing at mid table/euro challenging level and not just a one that can "get more points than Watford"?
-
I love him like, it was pretty obvious months ago but surely nobody still believes this is just a purple patch? The only thing he really lacks is a proper crunching sliding tackle imo.
-
I've said it before but I do think Howe comes out with some PFM stuff like He clearlly blagged the interview with his knowlege of our squad and the knowhow to change what was needed too. I'm not going to go over the top, we'll see how we are in the next two games or so, but if I'm being honest a less likeable bloke and I'd be wanting him sacked. It's shit, because I know he's better than this, but nothing's working for him. Deffinitely think a clearout of the coaching staff was needed long ago too, and I don't think Howe should have been allowed to bring in his own number 2, unfortunately probably too late for that now like.
-
One of those games where he was thankfully so bad that Eddie Howe sort of has no choice but to drop him like Same with Shelvey, we have to pish forward deals in the transfer market because they're unplayably bad.
-
Deffinitely thought he was still in Spain playing with a back 3 behind him there like Happened twice he got absolutely roasted for pace. Class outside of that though.
-
Loke I'm no tactical genius but it seems like with the players we have Joelinton should be infront of the defence and Shelvey should be wide right of the 3 to allow him to find space out wide.
-
Like I think Howe must see him as a regista or something, ignoring the fact they're meant to have quick feet and the ability to turn into space.
-
I get the idea behind him, he's meant to be a 'quarter back', but he's fucking shit at it Having a player slap bang in probably the most populated area of the pitch who turns like a fucking Wildebeest just seems mental.
