  1. Aye, it's another annoying thing those dopey 30 year old TikTok/Youtube gimps have fed into the lexicon via their 10 year old followers.
  2. I think Prophet is right like. You're looking at what the 4th team needed to survive, not what you would need to survive if you were to replace the 3rd team. I mean you can do both to find out different things, but in this case we're assuming that we aren't one of the bottom sides so will be replacing a team from 17th and up.
  3. What's the craic with Lampard like? In theory he seems to have a decent plan. Maybe it's just my bias towards possitive managers but an attacking 3-4-3 can be hard to deal with.
  4. I'm not sure on the calculation at this point but it'll deffinitely be a lot lower than 40 like. Pretty sure 40+ has only happened once or twice?
  5. Yeah I get that, but where we're currently at, having all 3 seems like it would be hard, atleast the money could probably be spent improving other areas of the pitch. In a few years we will hopefully be able to carry 2 quality players in each position but I think we'd be best off trying to cover with youth talent who will be cheaper and more willing to sit on the bench. I get the feeling a lot of people are happy to sacrifice Joelinton from the side in the summer but I think it would be a massive mistake personally.
  6. Think I'd rather we brought a young CDM in tbh, Bissouma would be expected to start which makes our midfield options clunkier than I believe they should be at the minute. Bissouma, Joelinton and Bruno would be pretty hard to maintain when all are fit.
  7. I'm more onabout businesses in the same space having to catch up. So if Man City and Arsenal, for example were to also join, other teams might follow until every team in the league feels they need to do the same. It may not work like that in reality though, fuck knows. And like £16 a week (minus tax) is objectively not a lot of money, but for someone on the bones of their arse it could deffinitely help. It would probably completely cover any media subscriptions someone would take for example. By no means do I think it's some great, noble thing or out like. It's obviously still appauling
  8. Aye, it's still a poor wage but atleast it brings people to a level where it's starting to make more sense them going to work than just signing on the dole. I suppose the reason for joining the scheme is ultimately a PR move, but it puts pressure on other businesses to do the same, more so than if we just started paying a fairer wage off our own backs.
  9. Aye, my biggest hope from the transfer was that any half decent forward who can play out wide and likes to press should theoretically improve us. It was a lot of money though and we could probably spend it better in the Summer if we stay up.
  10. It's not a standard transfer though. He's one of the highest rated young players in Europe at the minute due to his form this season (whether deserved or not) and has teams like PSG apparently talking about him. If he continues his training and form at Reims that will only go up and he will probably be thinking he can choose his own career. Going to the Premier League is obviously a risk for him. Especially to a club like us who don't really have the facilities or track record in dealing with young players. If he doesn't take off immediately here he'd be putting his career back.
  11. How are Everton likely to line-up? Similar to Brentford will Alli coming in for Gordon?
  12. Bruno will have a Tiote/Ben Arfa debut against them. Nowt to worry.
  13. I do too like, if we'd signed Lingard and a forward/winger I'd be massively confident in us staying up. Like it's touch and go at the minute but there's some absolute around us.
  14. The old 6-2-2 formation utilising both wingbacks and fullbacks is probably past it's time like.
  15. I think we could have done better in January but do some people not realise that several teams around us also have "too many key positions still need a serious upgrade"? We're in a bad situation but I cannot wrap my head around the genuine doom looking at the table now.
  16. I know it's a meme but Burnley really are horrendous on the ball. Even Cornet looks like absolute shite around the box.
  17. People harking for the likes of Keane nowadays are fucking thick like They, like anybody else, need someone with a legitimate, deep understanding of the game. Not a shouty man. It's not the 1920s. The thing is is that they could probably easily get that too. The fact they're still in League 1 is hilarious but a complete disaster on their part. Anybody on their board with an ounce of credibility should have had them up years ago. Lukily for our entertainment their fans are just as dosile.
  18. Think it's better they get a convincing win tbh It's rare teams just keep blowing sides out the water unless they're Man City or Liverpool.
  19. Lascelles isn't coughing up possession though. Howe has him distributing the ball short (mainly to Trippier I think). It's clearly tactical and looking at recent passing stats Lascelles is more than capable of it. Not a chance he drops him imo, Burn will come in on the left with a licence to be a bit more possitive in possession.
  20. Think that probably had more to do with the break in play halting Leeds' momentum than it did Longstaff coming in though. I do think Longstaff is a bit underrated though, as is any player who's main attribute is just running towards people Joelinton does need to refine himself though and nail down an actual position as it would be a massive waste to just replace him in the summer.
  21. I think Joelinton should be our furthest back midfielder personally. There aren't many midfielders in his mould so see a lot of "he can't play here" etc but if he limits his game he has everything needed to mop up in the middle and get it to Bruno or someone else He's an absolute beast, he wins everything and reads the game well. He can pass and carry the ball well but but one he takes it past a certain point he doesn't have enough to create or score.
  22. He'll still very likely be able to act like a normal human being around his team mates though.
  23. He'll be fine man, he'll be mates with most of the squad and they'll likely just get along like normal colleagues. I doubt he's going to be curled up in the dressing room every day blasting Sparklehorse, crying.
