  1. Has this commentator even has a cursory glance at our stats this season?
  2. Gayle has done really well to make a couple of chances but fucking hell he just panics like fuck now infront of goal.
  3. He's the footballing equivalent of those weird 5ft 9 cunts who claim they're 6ft for some absurd reason.
  4. Worth remembering that this included returning after a horrific injury too.
  5. Yeah, but that means VAR will be giving 6 pens a game for shirt grabbing in the box then? Fair point really, probably not, but it just seems to be a football wide acceptance that shirt pulling is allowed, video reffing or not Is part of football not based on luck and subjectivity? Different people have different opinions on what is a bad tackle or foul. The fact people can argue both for and against Italy getting a pen shows it simply isn't as easy as "VAR says it's a pen". Would Italy have felt hard done by for not getting a pen? Probably not. I don't understand those opinions though. Its clearly a penalty going by the rules of the game. VAR has generally been shambolic when trialled in the FA cup so far but I don't understand the outrage when it actually does its job the way it should It shouldn't have been a penalty because the referee and the linesman either didn't see it or didn't think it was a penalty, whether they were right or wrong. Football has always been the rule of the ref, not some cunts sitting in a room watching a load of teles. Whether they get the decisions correct or not I just don't want VAR to have a major part in the game. EDIT: That's without even touching on how much of a cluster fuck the entire thing is too.
  6. They've completely ruined the game like. I don't know why everyone isn't absolutely fuming. Baffled some are defending it.
  7. Footsoldier telling it like it is except when he's telling it like it factually isn't.
  8. Not really. Many don't mind a player not tracking back etc if he's good enough when we have the ball, Robert and Ginola fit this. It's always pissed me off when anyone questioned Ben Arfa's work it's his defensive work that's always brought up, his work rate when WE had the ball was the problem as he just didn't give a shit unless the ball was in his immediate vacinity and too often he'd take on and beat 3 players only to run the ball out or leave too tight an angle to get an effective ball in to get away with it. As a fan I loved watching his skill but I can see why not many managers wanted him and why his career has went as it has. But this was highly effective.
  9. How many people actually 'hated' him though? Most of his critics, self included, would have loved to have seen him fulfil his talent, and felt very exasperated when it didn't happen. The difference is whether you see the problem as being with Ben Arfa, or with the various managers that he's fallen out with. The problem is obviously with Ben Arfa, which still doesn't excuse Pardew of the ridiculous way he utilised him on a match day. He was easily our best player and when he played regularly he won us games. He was dropped for Ryan Taylor, Shola Ameobi, and Cisse on the wing.
  10. It was always a bit telling that the people who hated Ben Afra were the same people who saw Pardew through to the very end too like (Ian excluded).
  11. It's complete revisionism and considering it was only a few years ago it's pretty impressive that your view could be that warped. He was consistently streets ahead of anyone else on the pitch. He would literally have a 'bad' 45 minutes and be dropped.
  12. One of the maddest things I've seen in a football match.
  13. Just seen the goals, were they doing that picture in picture thing with the referee throughout the game?
  14. Yep. Said it from the start. The only decision it would potentially work for is offsides, but there would need to be a lot of work to get it quick enough. It’d have to be almost instant like goal line technology, to be acceptable. And even then it's only offsides that directly lead to a goal/big decision within a short space of time. Unless they're going to start enforcing it for situations like a player being marginally offside for a throw in, they then take the throw and win a corner and score from that corner. So they look back and cancel out the entire period of play from throw to goal. It's just such a moronic concept and there's really no need to try and perfect the game in this way. The Premiership was fine in the 90s.
  15. How any football fan can think VAR is good is beyond me like.
  16. Don't get me wrong, that'd probably be a really nice place, but it's not football like
  17. He'd probably start listening after the 2nd or 3rd right hook.
  18. Hopefully she gets locked up.
  19. That team looks like the result of a Pep Guardiola and Alan Pardew team-sheet getting Jeff Goldblum'd in a telepod.
  20. It's impossible to defend like, I don't think we have the worst support but I think we definitely have the highest quantity of pure tossers.
  21. But aye, nobody is going have a properly done crispy belly pork with black pudding hash and £15 veal stock gravy and be like "this is vile".
  22. Agree with Sewely like. Actual British food is lush when done well, and in fact some of the best restaurants are 'British food'. Peace & Loaf, Blackfriars and House Of Tides are obvious examples. We also have a load of great restaurants from various other nations. But we're still massively lacking like, in the same way Newcastle has some great places to eat but isn't a patch on London. The UK in general (including London) just doesn't have the same level of ridiculous variety as the US.
