Maybe Dummett made an error in heading it instead of letting it bounce (I disagree), but in neither situation do we concede a goal unless our keeper is tragically out of position

Bet his training sessions were a breeze.

Paully's a beast like

I think he's less worried about their player and more concerned with making sure he knows where the ball is though. It's a literal example of not taking your eye off the ball, he even has to adjust at the last second to make sure he makes contact. His main concern is that he heads the ball out of danger which he would have done had it not been for Darlow. Anyway I just don't think it's easy to get on the end of that ball while running at full pelt while also looking about. EDIT: At the end of the day if we blame Dummett for that then we're saying what he did was incorrect and discouraging him from doing it again, when 999 times out of 1000 it's absolutely the correct line of play and our keeper claims the ball with ease/at worst watches it out for a corner.

I'm pretty sure he'd have just had a look if he could like, he's not a complete moron. I think it's pretty safe to assume that checking the position of his keeper and maintaining a full awareness of the flight of the ball in that situation just wasn't as easy as it is to imagine it should be. He seemed happy to concede a corner if Darlow wasn't there.

If Dummett headed it towards goal I'd agree it would be his fault like, but he's heading it out for a corner at worst in his mind. He cannot plan for Darlow inexplicably handing the ball right into Cotterill's path.

http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/10782351/newcastles-calamitous-mix-up He's literally sprinting with his eyes fully on the ball so he can judge the drop, why should he have to be aware of his keeper in this situation? Just watch the clip again, he has very little time to check what's going on but will reasonably expect his goalkeeper to be prepared in the box to receive the nod back.

Not good enough for Spurs.

Elliott's been the one on the bench recently so it'll be him you'd imagine. Hard to argue with it like, Elliott's never been as bad as this. It's not even like we need a great keeper, just someone who can stay switched and can remain in contact with his defence for 90 minutes. Ironically Darlow would probably be better if we were getting dicked on every game.

Shelvey's ban, the ACON, and then Gayle being injured have been pretty big setbacks. Hopefully when Gayle comes back our form will improve, we're losing a goal a game without him. -

How have teams 'sussed us'? We've been like this all season. We're currently unbeaten in 8 and the 3 draws within that period are all down to embarrassing individual errors from our keeper. -
Aye, he's charging towards the ball and I have no idea why. He has to anticipate Dummett getting to it.
-
Aye I'm coming round to the idea of starting Elliott tbh His howler per game ratio is probably significantly smaller.
-
I hope we don't risk him like, Huddersfield is far more important than Brighton (although Brighton is obviously a huge game). We clearly misjudged it the last time.

If we weren't managed by Benitez I think we'd be about mid-table like. -
Ranieri not a good manager Fucking hell man. He's had a few pretty bad jobs like but last season was clearly all down to him.

one of Stifler's better ones tbf.

If that's not a wind up then it's the thickest comment I've ever read on here like. Hands down.

If they have no one lined up then I think this is a pretty stupid call tbh.
